Whats the best CAD software for designing models/ fixtures to 3d print?
I've used inventor and solidworks for other things but not extensively, and they both seem pretty similar.
I've also used Google sketch up but found it lacking.
Might want to check out Autodesk's offerings, they offer Fusion 360 for free for hobby use, and there's of course always the big daddy, AutoCAD.
Why does kvm spice on a windows guest not show the mouse cursor?
Vega "10"
AMD Radeon Vega Frontier Edition (AC & LC)
AMD Radeon RX Vega 64 (AC & LC)
AMD Radeon RX Vega 56
AMD Radeon Pro WX 9100
AMD Radeon Pro WX 8200
AMD Radeon Pro SSG
AMD Radeon Pro V340 (Basically WX 8200 X2)
AMD Radeon Instinct MI25
Vega "20" / 7nm
AMD Radeon Instinct MI50
AMD Radeon Instinct MI60
AMD Radeon VII
And now AMD Radeon Pro Vega II
Because obviously two MI60/Vega "20" packages together = Pro Vega II.

Can we please go back to more sensible naming schemes?
All I can think of after hearing this news:

I'm a bit of a chimp when it comes to 3d modelling, i get by with sketchup.
It's basic but works for my needs.
My Galaxy S9's USB C port has failed.
Second S9 with a major issue.
God damn it.
sounds like an S9 problem. my Pixel 2 got slamdunked with the cable in and nothing even happened. worst I've heard about the USB-C port is that occasionally some grime can get trapped in there, but it's significantly easier to remove dirt from the USB-C slot than it ever was a Micro slot
That's an S9 problem not a USB-C problem, C by design is a significantly more durable connector than Micro.
Well I woke up this morning and it's charging via USB. No fast charging though.
I don't get my S9 what the fuck does it want.
I've used fusion360 for 3d printing some small parts and I would recommend giving it a try. For things like constraints and precise measurements they make it pretty simple to sketch it out and then build it up into an actual model.
I tried it after and it was pretty much what I was looking for
remember, knockout is the future of the community, estimated time remaining on FP is 24 hours or so
welp. i don't know if anyone besides wingless remembers me but it's been an honor sipwicketting with you guys
pentium was right, Windows XP is the best OS.
Can't say I recognise you with that name username D:
Hi

Haven't been active here for a long time, but sipwicket still holds a special place in my heart
Actually, gonna throw this out there before, but just incase anyone wants.

Ok
Threads come and go, forums rise and fall, but CIPWTTKT is eternal. I may not be much of an active poster anymore (got some Life Stuff going on), but I've still read this thread every day. You're all awesome people, and wherever we end up will be home if you all are there.
As a parting piece of news for this site (to be copied over to Knockout shortly), I have an update on the Immortal Droid Alarm Clock. That ancient-ass phone, which I am still using as an alarm clock, has now passed five years of uptime.

That's 44,304 hours and change. When it was last powered off, it was 2014 - ISIS was not yet a thing, the Brexit referendum had not yet been scheduled, and SpaceX had yet to land a booster in one piece. It has now survived three moves, multiple lightning-induced power outages, and, now, the entire useful life cycle of the phone that succeeded it.

That's right, bitches, I finally upgraded from that ratty old Nexus 5 with a broken camera and massive panel gaps from a poor reassembly. I got me a brand-new Pixel 3a. Family portrait above: Droid showing its uptime; Nexus 5 showing Facepunch; Pixel 3a showing Knockout. (Picture taken by my Surface - the Pixel has a much better camera, but obviously cannot take a picture of itself.)
I don't have a nice charger stand for the Nexus 5, so it can't really replace the Droid as my alarm clock, and I'm kind of attached to that anyways. Anyone know a cool thing to do with an old Android phone? If you do, go post it on Knockout, because I have a feeling this forum's not much longer for this world.
I'm not really sure what I can say, you nerds are probably my closest group of internet friends
I've been here for going on 10 years worth of computer builds, spent literally half my life growing up with you all
Hope to continue seeing everyone in the Discord and on KO, but if not, it's been real and a fun ride

Came here to say the same thing. Weird seeing 10 of my formative years go up in smoke, but some of the most impactful ones were had in this thread. Crazy that it even survived this long. Take care everyone, have an easy time.
I don't really post much anymore but it's gonna be strange after 10 years.
It's been fun.
