• PC clock works only in Windows, clock/time stops ticking in BIOS

Any reasons for this happening? It doesn't seem like CMOS issue because BIOS settings are kept intact.
Did you update the BIOS recently?
No BIOS updates or anything else major with my PC aside from replacing DVD drive with SSD, but I fixed the problem by powering off entirely and removing CMOS battery for a couple of minutes and putting it back. Still wonder what actually caused this.
How long has the battery been in there ? might be time to replace it.
if it was faulty wouldn't it result in BIOS resetting every time? it doesn't happen
Batteries regain a little charge when removed, would happen again within days to maybe a week. Alternatively it could just be random CMOS corruption which isn't terribly unusual.
