I ca't understand why people use chrome/firefox, really. I mean, I have a shit computer, and IE runs as fast as them both...also, it was reported that IE had the least amount of viruses inserted into the browser itself(sorry, im computer illiterate) with FF/chrome being the highest.
Have you ever used Chrome/Firefox? Report is wrong. IE8+ has great security, but not as great as Chrome/Opera/Firefox.
snip-dumbass
I phrased it wrong, as usual; Since IE has so few people using it, hackers commonly target chrome/ff because of the amount of possible users affected(in terms of exploiting java/flash/etc. within browser applications).
More people use IE than any other browser.

Because until IE9, every other major browser was faster and better than IE8. Now, the performance is very close, but the featureset is still bigger in other browsers.
Also, your assertion about Internet Explorer being more secure than the other major browsers isn't anywhere near true.

IE has a large market share, and the argument that "more users == more exploits" is wrong, anyway. All major browsers have enough market share to be targetted by exploits (IE, FF, Chrome, Safari).

-snip- I responded to the wrong post.
You want to know whats ridiculous, in internet explorer if you go to the xbox site, it wont work. Its not just me it happens to my friends to. How stupid is that, internet explorer is made by microsoft and xbox being one of microsofts big selling points and you cant even get to the xbox site through internet explorer.

Those rating me dumb are dumb.
It even says on Wikipedia:
On 23 February 2010, Valve released a public beta for a major update to the Steam client.[63][64] The update added a new "Library" panel and the rendering engine for the Store and Community pages—including the in-game overlay engine—was changed from Internet Explorer's Trident engine to a WebKit implementation. It was launched on 26 April.[65]
What baffles me is that when i use IE to scroll through google images, its smoother than with chrome (with the GPU flag set to on). Im not talking about the smoothing from the scroll wheel, but it does stutter a little on chrome, so strange.
Out of boredom I did this: [hd]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b2Yg4ESNFrw[/hd]
Looks ugly.

Cool.
I'm going to download IE9 just to keep my computer's software up to date, but I'll still use Opera for browsing. Every now and then I see a post hating on Opera and wondering why people think it's a bad browser, I find it to be nice and relatively speedy.
Wow, IE9 is faster than chrome?
Well played, Microsoft.
Some guy in my class bragged to me that he had the latest IE.
So I have been working with IE 8 for quite a long time and have been tortured by it with its many bugs, errors, virus website popups, and site compatibility crap. I decide to give 9 a try and low and behold it's just as crappy and useless if not worse than 8. Yesterday I decided to give Firefox another try with 4 and wow.... I think I just found my new browser. FF runs so dam smooth, and the UI is clean with the option for addons.

Care to elaborate?
Today, it started to come with Windows Update.
So how is the security with IE9?
Using IE9 on my Windows Server. (Came with Windows Update so meh, installed).
I like it more than IE8.
Is there an option in IE9 to put the tabs on top? All I can seem to do is put them below the URL bar.
Other than that it's actually pretty good. I dicked around with it today and it seemed to perform great.

It could probably be done via modifying the DirectUI files in ieframe.dll.
The only people I know who use IE are old people and babies, and they wouldn't have the sense to download the latest update.
