In that screenshot your volume is set to 0, try moving it up?
doesnt work. nothing happens. [editline]04:59PM[/editline] well now i cant even fucking do a system restore because i get some error? the flying fuck?
What does the error say ?
restore point moved or damaged. and i tried several restore points bassicaly it looks like i will never have audio again. [editline]05:35PM[/editline] [B]what the fuck do i do now????????????[/B]
If it was me I would just back up my documnets and do a clean install of windows, its not that hard. But do you have the OS disc ?
Ok so i choose another system restore point and its restoring for 40 minutes already. Is this normal? windows creates restor points when you do some things, like rolling back drivers and other stuff
You CAN just reinstall without reformatting, it'll just leave the old files in a folder called Windows.old
Right click your audio device in the device manager and say uninstall. This will clear out the drivers you have currently installed. Reboot the machine and Windows will pick it up again in the found new hardware wizard so just make sure to choose the drivers that have worked in the past. Once you do that you should be good to go on the sound. If you get that far I'll see what I can do for you on the mic side of things.
alright i'll do that when this fucking restore is done ( 50 mins now ) [editline]05:55PM[/editline] restore didnt do shit: ill try it now specter [editline]05:59PM[/editline] i fucking hope this doenst fuck things up even more [editline]06:00PM[/editline] well ok why does uninstalling the soundcard take so long?
Also, which specific SoundBlaster X-fi card do you have? Generally drivers are the same for a series of cards, but you never know how some devs work.
Xtreme gamer i think. Cuz its a pre built 3xtR3mMe GA3mS pc you know what i mean [editline]06:10PM[/editline] ok so i did this hardware wizard thing and now it says HD audio bla bla but anyways sound nor mic work [editline]06:12PM[/editline] so should i just completely remove the creative folder? or will my sound card never again work then?
Your sound will work again, calm down. Now you need to right click the sound icon in the taskbar and say "show playback devices" (or whatever it's called, I haven't done this in a while and am on an XP machine at the moment). Once in there, select your card and (I believe) you just right click it and say "set as default". Click the recording tab and do the same for your microphone.
well the card isnt there? [editline]06:20PM[/editline] [IMG]http://i45.tinypic.com/33w1pns.jpg[/IMG] see its just that stupid HD audio. still not working... [editline]06:26PM[/editline] [url]http://forums.creative.com/t5/Sound-Blaster/Mic-doesn-t-work-on-X-fi-xtreme-gamer-sound-card/td-p/447052/page/6[/url] foudn this thread, might work if i actually get even my fucking sound to work again. [editline]06:54PM[/editline] but its not working so uhh?
And you made sure to select the drivers that worked before? And have you tried rebooting since?
yes, yes [editline]07:07PM[/editline] i shouldve never removed or installed any new drivers because the sound did actually work before, just the microphone didnt :/
So what happens when you try to play music right now?
If i open windows media player it says no audio device found
So then I'm assuming in the device manager there is either an exclamation mark or an X next to your card.
nope. its just normal
Do you still have the box for your card or the original CD? I would suggest using that since nothing else seems to be working.
I would accept that you are deaf and move on.
[QUOTE=Specter;19328303]Do you still have the box for your card or the original CD? [editline]08:46PM[/editline] [QUOTE=TrafficMan;19329207]I would accept that you are deaf and move on.[/QUOTE] hurr so witty n cool hurr
[QUOTE=TrafficMan;19329207]I would accept that you are deaf and move on.[/QUOTE] I lol'd. @OP: If all else fails you got to bring it over to a computer repair shop/tech-savvy friend or something.
but what the fuck why is it acting so weird now? i just fucking instqlled new drivers and didnt have sound since then FUCK
Well, if you trust me I can remote into your system and take a look for you. PM for details if you're interested. Otherwise have a tech friend look into it for you.
wow no i cant let you do that, i learned the hard way to never trust anyone on the internet
Your being Dutch/German seems to explain your temper. [media]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PbcctWbC8Q0[/media]
good job mistaking dutch for german :frog: also not helping just trying to get some funnies
No worries, I understand. As I said then, you'll have to have a tech friend look at it for you.
