That blues are bad for gaming isn't universally agreed on. I personally love my DAS for gaming... Also I plan on getting a new Filco Tenkeyless. (Also with blues)

They are slightly less and look nicer, at least in my opinion. It costs less and has the same build quality with better features, like a removable USB cable, still NKRO on PS/2.

[editline]28th December 2010[/editline] Perhaps I'll even take a Realforce, I would like to feel TOPRE once. Although I'm not sure whether I'd like their "distributed pressure" layout.
Its a PS/2 Gateway SK-9920. I like it because it has media control buttons on top. Livin' in luxury here. We've got two of them.
[img_thumb]http://solutions.neilsquire.ca/images/Keyboard/Comfort%20curve%202000.jpg[/img_thumb]
Holy shit I never thought my keyboard would be on the first page of this thread. What's a good mechanical keyboard for gaming?
What's a good mechanical keyboard for gaming?
Razer's Blackwidow is aimed at gaming and has macro keys and disabling of the windows key, etc. Its pretty cheap for a mech keyboard, but a lot of people don't like the MX Blue switches for gaming. Personaly I love it.
I still have and use the dell mouse, keyboard, and mouse pad that I received with the last Dell I ever purchased, over 6 years ago. They all work perfectly.

Just because it works fine doesn't mean there isn't something better, the same thing happens with headphones etc.
Razer's Blackwidow is aimed at gaming and has macro keys and disabling of the windows key, etc. Its pretty cheap for a mech keyboard, but a lot of people don't like the MX Blue switches for gaming. Train yourself to stop after the actuation point, right when you hear the click, and the sound will be less metallic from bottoming out onto a metal plate. The space bar is the only key I always bottom out no matter what. Blackwidow has 2KRO though, they didn't even put in the $1.50 to put in diodes to get 6KRO under USB. The Rosewill RK-9000 is also a cherry blue board with better build quality overall and NKRO, it doesn't have the macro keys of the Blackwidow and looks less like g4m3r gear. Glossy keyboards always attract fingerprints and was why I didn't get a Das.
I want a keyboard with lit keys, and media control keys would be awesome as well, but I don't really wanna spend >$50 on it, am I SOL?
Logitech G11 I bought back in 2005 (THE FUCKER JUST WON'T DIE!!!).
[img_thumb]http://www.crazypc.com/images/inputdevices/saitek/eclipse3/eclipse3redhuge.jpg[/img_thumb]
The light bleeding around the keys would drive me fucking NUTS. I'd have to disassemble that bitch, and mask-off all the seams of that motherfucker before it'd be usable.

So my aunt owes me about $50. I am getting the Deathadder lefty, I'm also planning on lining the bottom of my TV with blue LEDs or blue rope lights. Is there a mechanical keyboard with a blue backlight?

I had literally been using it for ten minutes, I'm more used to it now, I only slam some of the keys.
Are the keys shiny from wear? The other keys are pretty smooth too. I'm planning on getting a real keybaord soon.
[img_thumb]http://i52.tinypic.com/30lmdeh.jpg[/img_thumb] It's..9 or 10 years old, and it is covered in dust, hair, etc. Would I use anything else? Hell no, I grew up with this keyboard, I'll use it until it dies. It still works perfectly.
