Windows 7 is NOT the same as Vista.
Using "=" is therefore wrong.
Using "=" would be wrong only if they changed a single line of code.
It is slower than XP, even with no better functionality enabled. Booting times, response, everything. Windows 7 is much better at this.
It eats shitloads of RAM, and unreasonably high amounts of it.
Mainly at start, it was incompatible with a lot of software.a
And I tested Vista as one of the first people ever. Don't dare to call me bandwagoner.
You do know that happens with every new OS once in a while? Also it doesn't eat more RAM than Windows XP if you don't run a fuckload of background programs. Also "as one of the first people ever" i strongly doubt.

Why?
Because my avatar is a dogs ass?
[editline]09:36PM[/editline]
Was.
[editline]09:37PM[/editline]
That said, I don't really think there is that much of a difference between Vista and 7.
I know it's built and based on the same kernel, but so is XP and 2000.
[editline]09:37PM[/editline]
I also think 7 is better.
Like a polished Vista.

Loopernor? IS THAT YOU
Loopernor? IS THAT YOU
It couldn't be. His name is LarparNar.
I'll be honest. I have put my computer through numerous rigorous tasks, and not once has Vista given me a problem that XP didn't also give. To me, Vista is an OK operating system.
The only thing Vista did for me was stabilize my BSOD'ing XP installation buy upgrading to Vista... and although Vista's quirks were annoying, Seven has definitely taken the crown as my favorite version of Windows.
[editline]08:31PM[/editline]
I doubt anyone will rage, even us Vista lovers agree that 7 is a better OS. We're just saying that Vista isn't the piece of shit that so many people make it out to be.
This is the most intelligent post in this entire thread.
My only problem is that it's missing the Classic Start Menu. Seriously, why remove it? :crying:
Vista has only crashed once; it was when I ran some test on Crucial Memory's site to see which RAM I should get.
After which I just decided I'll pick out my own RAM.

Damn what is it with me and edits.
The only people who really complained about vista were
People who's computers are too obsolete to run vista correctly
People who know jack shit about computers.
Honestly.... I am not really VERY tech savvy.... But I know enough. Its so simple to do this.
The only people who liked Vista were people who get amused by flashy stuff.
The only people who liked Vista were people who get amused by flashy stuff.
the only people who didn't like vista were raving macfags and idiots who have no opinion of their own and so substitute it with the opinion of macfags
My only problem is that it's missing the Classic Start Menu. Seriously, why remove it? :crying:
Because the classic start menu is complete shit compared to the new one.
My only problem is that it's missing the Classic Start Menu. Seriously, why remove it? :crying:
I fix computers for a living as a second job, and although it was tough for me to accept the change of the start menu, I gave it a chance and eventually got used to it. I have to explain to my clients that it's been removed, and they eventually learn to like it.
And there isn't a hacky or register change that makes it come back?
Not that I would use it.
I believe that statistically Vista is actually the fastest adopted OS ever.
My only gripe with the new start menu is that as opposed to vista they removed the "search internet" shortcut. I added it back in but I don't understand why it had to go.

Possibly seen as redundant what with browser search bars built in now.

It was the fastest adopted OS ever because it was forced on virtually every new PC on the market (I mean prebuilds) Laptop or Desktop - it had Vista.
The thing that annoyed me about Vista was the annoying pop-ups that came up every time I wanted to run something.
Other than that, Vista is great, so is 7, and people are stupid.

Wasn't that the UAC that you could disable for the most part?

It is.
the only people who didn't like vista were raving macfags and idiots who have no opinion of their own and so substitute it with the opinion of macfags
Or, you know, people who had genuine problems with it...
I believe that statistically Vista is actually the fastest adopted OS ever.
If you mean "rate of adoption" by "fastest adopted OS ever", then Windows 7 will probably win. Vista didn't even beat XP after a few years. It was a sales flop, more of a Windows 7 staging ground than anything.

I can't use that when the browser isn't open can I now? The great thing is I don't even have to wait for it to load before I can search. In fact it's so expedient I often search from the start menu instead of switching to an open browser window first.

especially when you can press the windows button on your keyboard to open the start menu

Yes I realise this. But for an internet search I'd imagine most people would think "browser!" and not "start menu!"
