Doesn't the Pure have changeable backlight colours?
I think the Pure is the next one, which may or may not come out at the end of March (aluminium base, different colours) and I'd wait but I'm too inpatient, plus it'll be even more expensive than the Race which is already above my budget. Oh for fuck sake, again? Everything I buy is never in stock, why the hell do they keep them on their websites if they aren't in stock without atleast a small warning, this is not how you do business. I have the money for a happy hacking keyboard but I'm really unsure if it's worth it or not, bragging rights just aren't worth $300. Anyone care to weigh in? Are the Happy hacking boards just e-peen boosters or are they worth the cash?
buy a poker, the shift key on the pure looks like it would really suck
The right shift key? I never use that, but I get your point, I posted on geekhack asking if a novice like myself would appreciate a Happy hacking enough to buy one. [editline]10th March 2012[/editline] Ahh fuck it I bought Happy Hacking, my wallet is raped.
but you could have bought me a poker, and two for yourself for the same amount :(
With my luck it'll be out of stock anyway.
Well I do hope that the Happy Hacking keyboard works out for you. I would say that the Das Keyboard would be a good buy though. Darn learning to type with DVORAK is kinda hard, but I am having fun learning it.

Got my keyboard in the end :D will take some getting used to keep pressing caps lock instead of a and a macro key instead of control
I do agree that this Das Keyboard could be a bit better as there are some times that when I type it can be a bit hard to depress the keys, I guess that I need to press the key straight down other wise it gets kinda annoying no type with. Other than that this keyboard does good. Lordofdafood what keyboard did you get?

Main thing that put me of getting a mx black / red was everything that I read that after a while it starts to hurt, no idea if thats true or not but it seemed a pretty common viewpoint

Allright guys, I've been looking around and evaluating my options. I've more or less decided on blue switches, and I'm leaning on the Das Model S Ultimate. I like the blank keys and i think i might also get the WASD keyset they sell. The issue is that i can't get it off amazon, I have to buy it off getdigital.de (for some reason, amazon claims they can't deliver to norway, even though it's the same seller). My other option, is getting a Filco Majestouch-2 with a swedish layout. It's an exact match with the Norwegian layout, apart from two letters. I'm actually playing with the thought of getting the tenkeyless version, and just getting a cheap USB numpad on the side (I don't use it very often, but i do need it occasionally). What do you guys think? Should I go with the Filco, or the Das?

I'm getting a new desk soon though to sort that out.

I'm super poor (£75) is there any decent keyboards I could get?
I'm super poor (£75) is there any decent keyboards I could get?
Look for Model Ms and old Cherry G80-3000. Or spare a bit and you can buy pretty much every popular one.
I'm super poor (£75) is there any decent keyboards I could get?
KBC Poker, blackwidow, Noppoo Choc Mini, 6gv2, Ducky DK1087, Adesso MKB-135B just to name a few. You can also look on ebay and gumtree to find older mechanicals such as Model Ms and whatnot and second hand Cherrys/Filcos.
Welp, I'm returning the BlackWidow. It doesn't have nkro so I end up not being able to press certain buttons during BF3. Plus I'm not sure if its because I'm used to the G15 or if it's the keyboard but whenever I try to start typing after resting my hands on the keyboard I always rest them a little too far to the left and I end up pressing the wrong letters. Fuck, time for a new mech keyboard. Again.
Pretty sure they all do, sans blackwidow because razer is awful and should feel bad.
Ah, alright then. That blackwidow was my first and last Razer product I'll ever buy. [editline]12th March 2012[/editline] One last thing: has anyone ever shopped at tigerimports.net before? Resellerratings has nothing on it, and it's not BBB accredited.

They sell through Amazon as well, that's how I got mine.
It says that Ducky make ISO versions of the boards on their site, but I've never seen them for sale anywhere. Anyone know where they're sold?
Alright I just bought the Adesso MKB-135B. Hopefully the QC isn't what most of the negative reviews say it is... And if it does turn out to be bad, blank das keyboard it is!

Also it's possible nitpicking, but it's weird how that Adesso has the keycap lettering different on most keys, it's just all over the place, and the crooked keycaps: It's a nice looking board though, but those with OCD should stay well away. I'm still having some issue deciding what switches to get. I've been doing a lot of reading on this and it seems like most people are just fine gaming on blue, but some people seem to think it's a hindrance compared to for example browns. I will be gaming a good bit with this keyboard, so I'm a bit torn on this issue. I want something that is good to type on, while still being good to game on. I'm pretty sure I'll go for either blues or browns, but I can't decide which would be best for me. Keep in min I'm coming from a rubber dome keyboard, so I don't have any previous experience with mechanicals. I'm not used to floating the keys around the actuation point or anything when I game.
Or stick some nice Filco or Cherry caps on it.
yes, spend $60 on a low quality keyboard and another $40 on keycaps
yes, spend $60 on a low quality keyboard and another $40 on keycaps
I thought that the only real problem with the Adesso was the dodgy keycaps? Or are the switches just really badly mounted?
