maybe because literally every place discriminates against age unless you have some sort of connection into the business
"just mow some lawns XD"
The only ones I can find cost 85 dollars without shipping, if not more. Is there anything wrong with the steelseries 6g v2? I can get it for the same price, but I don't have to hassle with shipping.
i have a friend who bought one about a year ago and he had to RMA it twice as it broke within a week both times when he did pretty much nothing wrong, so in my book the steelseries 6g is shit

I had a paper route as a kid years ago. Terrible job with almost no money.
Thank god I am now an adult, I enjoy my job and get paid well for 1st year wages.

A friend of mine got a 6gv2 and within like a week the A key stopped working.
I think they have some serious QC issues wherever it's being manufactured, which is a shame since it's one of the most reasonably priced mechanicals out there.
Sold my Happy hacking for £200, it was a fun experience and will probably be the best keyboard I'll ever type on but I'd much prefer some more headphones.
I'll probably just grab a KBC Poker or something.
Don't you have a ~$1200 headphone?
Don't you have a ~$1200 headphone?
Sold them because they were too amplifier heavy, I'm saving for LCD-2s which are $999 but aren't nearly as demanding to use, should play fine off my E10, almost got enough.
Decided to go with a Filco majestouch2 tenkeyless with blue cherries.
holy shit
what do you do to afford such premium peripherals

Fucking nothing, that's why Welt hates me, people with jobs have ludicrously good setups and peripherals, look at Ajacks and that guy with the T-rex in his avatar.

He got very lucky with a shipping mixup.
I have a full time job but I dont want to spend a couple paychecks on any one peripheral.
Depends on what you value I guess. To me, if I use something a lot I'll get the best one that I can.

Yes/No?
Alternative would be plumping the extra for a Corsair K60.
[editline]4th April 2012[/editline]
or wait for the Quickfire Rapid to be available in the UK as it's tenkeyless?
Im happy with my Meka G1. It is expensive because its gimmicky, I dont care about them but I love how heavy it is.
What's the difference between the Meka and Meka G1?
Meka is a piece of shit non mechanical keyboard for Serrriuss Gam3rs.

No hate, just jelly. I wish I could get a free grand.
I'm thinking of the other Tt keyboard then my bad.
Just got myself a QPAD MK-85, loving it so far.
Clickidy click click :v:

I also feel more accurate and faster using mechanical keyboards, and its size is perfect, the palm rest isn't cheap and feel like shit like some other keyboards (Uhm, Logitech G-series).
I just got a old Dell keyboard, its VERY clicky.
Its a Dell AT101W:

I popped one of the buttons off and found its an ALPS. My friend had it in his garage, and said I could borrow it. Very happy with it, I was using one of these before:

and it was absolutely silent compared to this old one I have now.

We almost have the exact same keyboards. I have the wireless apple keyboard and the AT101W on my desk.
Went through my family's storage unit and found an old MTek k104, after pulling off one of the keycaps it appears to be a White ALPS.

However some keys only work half the time, I'm not sure if it's because the keyboard is dirty or that it just hasn't been used in 15+ years.

You could take all the key caps off, wash the ones without stabilising bars in a bag and use a can of compressed air on the rest of the board. That should clean it up pretty well. I seriously doubt it'll do any damage but you'd wanna be cautious if it's over 15 years old.
Is a pen alright to lever keys off of cherry mx switches? or might it break something..
Is a pen alright to lever keys off of cherry mx switches? or might it break something..
I think that would work, but what's probably better is using the flat edge of a butter knife to get underneath and just slide them off the switch. I usually use a swiss-army knife style thing to get under the edges of my keys and that works fine, there's been no damage to the keys and they come up with little resistance.
Decided to purchase a CM Storm quickfire rapid cherry blue during Neweggs 15% off all keyboard sale last weekend, I have the reds and I really want to try out the blues and for $67 it's a good price to demo. Hopefully I can pick up a cheap brown some day so I can try those out then I'll have a nice set of cherry mx boards for friends to demo.
You could get some cherry switches from a group buy on Geekhack or something.
Someone know if there's a way to get a free keycap puller? I don't want to break my boards.
