This isn't a mechanical keyboard, is it? Sorry for the noob question.
Nope, rubber dome.

I've seen a few keyboards like that, but no it's rubber dome. [editline]24th May 2012[/editline] Very nice to type on for rubber dome keyboards though.
I'm not so sure. It could be a resprayed Model M, though why someone would is beyond me.
You can clearly see the lack of buckling springs.
You can clearly see the lack of buckling springs.
I swear that you could take the springs out of a Model M switch? Or that might have been the Model F. But you can take the springs out of a least one of them, which he could have done before taking the photo for some reason.
On the second photo, the bezel on the very left is way too thin to be a resprayed model M. It's supposed to be almost as wide as a key but the one in the pic is barely half that. My money's on Chinese knockoff.
My school has a bunch of those...I never did find any kind of label on them or anything but they at least usually worked when we needed them to
You should add in the corsair k60 and k90. Typing on a k60 now (cherry red switches) really nice!
Got a Model M from a garage sale for $2 a few days ago. And another one for free from a friend. My original keyboard while not a model M, had blue switches. Great keyboard. Died a horrible death involving copious amounts of water.

Nevermind.
If it was water then you could probably save it by replacing the controller.
Actually the electronics are good but it's the switches that were immediately affected. I took a bunch apart but some lost their wonderful clicky action and didn't make proper contact. Revisiting it, it seems those ones somehow went together incorrectly. I'm not really sure how that's possible but I guess it is. Looks like it's problem solved. If it wasn't for you, I probably wouldn't have gone back to it. At least not for a long time.
Is a ducky shine more/less/as loud as the Razer Blackwidow.
The Blackwidow is somehow obscenely loud no matter what switches are in it, at least according to quite a few tests I have seen. A Ducky Shine would be quieter.
I haven't found one I like. Anyone know of any new ones coming out that I might look into.
I haven't found one I like. Anyone know of any new ones coming out that I might look into.
There has been word of Logitech putting one out soon.
There has been word of Logitech putting one out soon.
No, there's been suggestions. Egged on by me and Brt, as it happens.
No, there's been suggestions. Egged on by me and Brt, as it happens.
I believe at this last CES they mentioned they were considering it but I could be wrong.
Please god make it happen. G910 Mechanical. $350, worth it.
Please god make it happen. G910 Mechanical. $350, worth it.
It better not be fucking $350, I can't imagine anyone who would spend $350 on a mechanical keyboard.
A logitech G series keyboard with mechanical is the only thing I'm looking for so I'd pay for it. I think maybe $200 is more like it. Considering the G19 is like 150 or something.

The paypal never went through, so he got his money back, and we left it there. No money spent.
Could someone help me by telling if it's that's a Model M on the picture or not? [t]http://n2.vatera.hu/photos/d2/cb/16f5_1_big.jpg[/t]

The seller said that the Enter key sticks, can I fix that somehow? Is it a good buy for $10?
The seller said that the Enter key sticks, can I fix that somehow? Is it a good buy for $10?
YES. Buy it as fast as you can! Even a broken model m is worth it for just 10 bucks!
The seller said that the Enter key sticks, can I fix that somehow? Is it a good buy for $10?
Yeah, from what I've seen Model Ms are fairly simple to disassemble, easy to repair, and spare parts are pretty abundant, plus Unicomp sells replacements springs, keycaps, shells, etc
Got it for $10, $5 for the keyboard and $5 for shipping. Read that M2 are rare, my Cherry MX White (no, not Clear) keyboard will finally have a companion.
how is wasdkeyboards? I'm about to buy this for $188 (I'm easily entertained by the colors, also league) windows keys will have the OF donut
