Would you recommend it? I was thinking of getting a mechanical and I've heard it's one of the nicer cheap ones.
How loud would you say the blue switches are? I know that's probably tricky to answer but most of my gaming is done in the dead of the night, so I wouldn't want to bother anyone else in my house.
[editline]1st July 2012[/editline]
Like could you hear it from a couple rooms away if you weren't bottoming out the keys?
I can vouch for the Quickfire Rapid too, but with Black switches.
And I think you would with me when I'm using the Blacks, let alone the Blues.
I'm thinking of customizing and buying a WASD Keyboard. Is it worth it?
I'm thinking of customizing and buying a WASD Keyboard. Is it worth it?
Yes, though if you're in some countries (eg England) then the import duty ect. is huge and probably not worth it.
Is Kustom the only place that sells Das Keyboards in the UK?
I want a Das Keyboard Silent, don't care if it's Ultimate or Professional but Kustom is sold out of UK layout boards :(

Kustom is ludicrously expensive. You can buy it straight from Das anyway, though if it comes from America then you could get nailed for VAT/import duty.
What's a good mech with media keys similar to the G110?
Macro keys would be cool too.
Are there any places in Australia (Or have cheap international shipping) that sell the Das Pro?

I think that the K60/K90 have macro keys.

But bear in mind it isn't fully mechanical. The Esc, F1-12, Macro, and the Home row keys are rubber dome. Still a good keyboard though.

I never claimed that it was.
Another option with media keys would be a Ducky DK9008 (fully mechanical too).
I love the K90 because of the blue LEDs it has. It will go nice with the Corsair 650d case I want with blue fans, etc in that.
It's a very nice keyboard. I actually don't use any of the other keys such as delete, etc. Only rubber dome key I use is ESC, which unfortunately should have been mechanical too..
k60 doesnt have macro keys but it has really nice media controls and a neat wrist rest ;)

Ah fuck, I'll guess I'll get a Filco tenkeyless from keyboardsco.

Yep, you can get it on pccasegear.

Can anyone help me identify this keyboard, or at least figure out if it's a rebranded version of a more popular board?

All I know about it was that it was cheap, and bought in the 80's. The underside of the keyboard has a sticker with a bunch of numbers on it. Googling those numbers brought me nothing, so it's probably an ID unique to this product.
I'd also like to identify the switch type, though I'm a bit nervous about pulling the keys out.
Post the sticker or we probably can't help you.

My Das Ultimate Silent should be dispatching tomorrow hopefully, my first mechanical kb, can't wait for dem badass blank keys
Pop a key out, no fear.
Somebody give me a good keyboard and mouse, I've been thinking of getting some new shit.
Preferably off this site:
http://www.dabs.ie/
Or any site that will ship to Ireland. Not too pricey now.

In order of preference
What's the actual difference between them all? Was looking at the Razor one mainly because it's the cheapest but what makes the others different?
The Blackwidow has 3KRO because Razer are cheap.
You could also look at getting a Filco from here because Filco's are made of what appears to be tank armour as well as having NKRO (can register every single key being pressed at once, though only through PS/2 because of limitations on USB).
What is 3KRO? Not sure what that is haha. I was just thinking of getting the Blackwidow because it's cheap enough and looks like a nice keyboard. Is it good or what? I really don't want to spend a lot on a keyboard I just need to know if the Blackwidow would be a good choice?
3kro is actually annoying as fuck.
I sold my BW because of it.
I got fucked over by it a few times playing Battlefield 3. Which, when you play for a sponsored team is not something you can let happen.
What is 3kro?
EDIT
Nevermind looked it up.
That does sound like a bit of a hinderence alright.
What other keyboard should I look at that is around the same price as the Razer one? Is there any on that site?
KRO is short for Key Roll Over, which is how many keys you can press at once. 3KRO means, therefore, that you can only register 3 keys at once. NKRO means you can have all of the keys pressed at once and they all register.

Get a Filco if you can, they're amazing.
[editline]5th July 2012[/editline]
Or iirc The Keyboard Co (linked above) sell Cherry G80-3000's, which is going to be your best bet for a cheap Cherry switch mech.

Only three keys at once is absolutely terrible
How does anyone use that?!

It is a mystery. The amount of guys I know who own the Black Widow is incredible, when there are miles better keyboards out there. Yet they insist that it is the best keyboard for gaming, the fools!
So glad I live in the same town as where Scan is located, means I got to try out numerous keyboards before I started splashing out the cash.
