I actually didn't know that everywhere English speaking except the UK uses the US keyboard layout. huh.
The UK also uses the ISO layout.
I prefer double-row enter over the single-row one, because, you know, it's one of the most important keys on a keyboard?
I really want one of these but the delivery costs are astronomical.
I can sell you the real thing for cheaper. Cleaned and tested.
All of the keyboard in OP have strange keyboard layouts as far as I can see. Are there any keyboards with standard British English layouts?
I was looking at the Steelseries 7G and noticed that the hash key was out of place but that seemed to be the closest keyboard to having a standard layout.

You can get Filco's from here in UK layout.
Filco's are also made out of some sort of tank armour and are therefore the best mechanicals.
The UK also uses the ISO layout.
That's what he was saying, that everywhere other than the UK uses ANSI.
Yeah, The ISO key I pulled off was thin compared to that chunky thing.
It's probably the UK apple layout then, that has a retardedly thin enter.
Go dvorak, its the choice of champions.

I want to learn Dvorak but I know that I would give up half way through and be unable to type using either Dvorak or Qwerty.
Are Blackwidows good? It's between that and the Quickfire but the Quickfire doesn't have a numpad which is kind of important. I'm just worried that it would be embarrasing to bring it to a LAN party or something because of how silly the Blackwidow looks
Quickfire Pro has a numpad, much better quality than the Black Widow as well.
Just got a vintage 1995 IBM model M!
Are Blackwidows good? ...how silly the Blackwidow looks
The Black Widow isn't good. I've had one, simply because you cant buy any other mech keyboard in a physical store in Australia, it's shit compared to other mechs.
I dont think it look silly.

They are shit compared to other mechs because of the 3KRO and the ricerness.
Get a Filco/Ducky Shine depending on whether you want a backlight (Ducky Shine) or not (Filco)
The problem is that none of those seem to be available in Sweden and shipping from overseas is incredibly expensive
I just received my unicomp keyboard i ordered from usa!

I'm very pleased with what i got. I used a rubberdome model m before this, and i can say the improvement is huge! I'm actually alot faster and more accurate when typing on this keyboard. It took me a while to get it though. This is a keyboard i'd recommend to anyone!
I'm kind of tempted to order one of those but the shipping costs are so high! $60 shipping for a $80 keyboard feels like it might be a bit too much. Was it easy to order it with a swedish layout?

Filcos are available with a Swedish layout, I have one myself. The shipping was painfully expensive though. I live in Norway, and the price was almost doubled because of import tax and shipping (shipping was maybe 300 NOK, tax was probably as much as 500-600 NOK).
How are the Qpad mk-50s? I haven't seen much about Qpad keyboards in this thread which is why I'm asking. I might actually go for the CM Storm, the numpad won't be that important and the price is nice

http://pckeyboard.com/page/KBDCFG/KBDCFG also, even though the shipping costs are alot, it's still cheaper than a half-good mechanical keyboard here in sweden!

My friend bought one because he wanted a keyboard with usb hub and two 3.55 mm inputs, but as it turns out, it doesn't have any of those! I simply thought they had put protection where they was supposed to have the hub and 3.55 mm inputs. But nope, it was just plastics. So i couldn't return my friend's keyboard because it was "broken", so i bought him a mk-80 instead, If anything, go for the mk-80. I, however will not buy from QPAD any more. Mk-50 are reds, they are okay to type on, but great on gaming. The mk-80 is blues and i find them great for both gaming and typing.

I removed one of those pieces where the USB hub is supposed to be and couldn't return it due to damages.

You can get Duckys from Panvision in a nordic layout.

Ok, wow I checked the conversion rate and you're right. 955:- is a pretty good price for a keyboard shipped overseas. Now it's just between the Unicomp and the CM Storm, I'm really not sure. Is paying the extra 200:- for a Unicomp worth it? Although the Unicomp does have a numpad so that helps quite a bit.
Also, are there any import taxes to worry about?

The great thing about Qpads is that you can choose what switches you want. Reds, black, browns or blues.
Has anyone happened to buy WASDkeyboard's keycaps and are from the UK? I'll be wanting them soon.

If you don't mind pouring the contents of your wallet into customs pocket for VAT ect. it should be fine.

I don't really want to, but is there anywhere else to get green, white and black clear (no lettering) keycaps?

Well last time I checked there were loads of key group buys on Geekhack and there are a few reputable people on ebay who sell keycaps.

WASDkeyboards have the widest range of keycaps on eBay. I guess I'll look around.
Since I'm at i46, there's a large amount of mechanical keyboards around what with sponsors etc.
Anyone interested in a mini roundup?
I have a friend looking for a UK layout mechanical keyboard with backlight and either brown or blue switches. Considering he only has ~£70 to spend, does such a thing exist?
I've been trying to convince him to get red switches instead which seem more feasible (eg storm quickfire)

CM Storm Quickfire Rapid.
Tenkeyless, though, if that's a problem.

Looks grand but can't find anything but black/red switches in a uk layout :/
He has used alps, blue and brown and liked all of them so he's after a tactile switch

Doesn't have backlight though.
You won't really get both at £70.
The pricing on these keyboards is insane. I guess they can charge what they want though. :v:
Hey guys! I'm looking to purchase a mechanical keyboard soon so I thought I'd drop by here and ask. I live in Canada and I'd prefer to purchase it at canadacomputers but I can buy off newegg.
I was suggested these keyboards:
Razer Black Widow (not sure if it matters if i get the "old" one or the 2012 one?)
OR
Rosewill Mechanical Keyboard RK-9000 with Cherry MX Blue Switch
Are there any others you recommend or which of the 2 are the best?
I'd like to spend under $100, preferably in the $80 or under range but I can most likely expand that a bit.
Thanks!
