Like I said before it all comes down to preference at this point. So take a look at the keyboards stated above and read reviews ect. and base your choice of what you have read and seen.
Like do you like the simple look of the Leopold or the kind of "gamer" look of the Quickfire?
Remember to read reviews
I've read a few reviews on the quickfire rapid pro and most say it's definitely worth it for its price and it usually received 4/5 stars. I think I'm going to go for it unless there are any others I should be comparing?
The look of a keyboard doesn't really matter to me, have it "gamer" look or simplistic, I love both.
If I do go with the quickfire rapid pro, would this one be fine? Or should I go for reds?
And regarding the rosewill one way up, i'd probably go for it except that a lot of people are complaining about usb connection problems with it.

Many people swear by Reds for gaming but its all about preference again like I personally prefer Browns over Reds because I like tactile feedback.

Brown {Quiet and tactile Actuation Force 60g-70g}
Red {Not Clicky or tactile Actuation Force 45g}

I wish there was a place I could try all them out and see what one suits me best. I think I'm going for the quickfire rapid pro at canadacomputers that uses cherry brown though, because if I don't like it I can always return it. (i hope.). Is there that much of a difference between reds and browns?
Thanks for the help everyone! I appreciate it.

The difference between Reds and Browns is huge.

Thought this was the quick questions thread

Well your only option really is to try out the Browns and if you don't like them then try other switches. (also what games do you play? It'll make a difference on the switch types that are better.)
wow the mechanical keyboards subreddit is literally the worst subreddit i've ever even seen

Care to explain why?
90% of it is drama or sperging over special etched keycaps

I play all types of games, mainly fps (all the counter-strikes). I think the browns are the best for me since I plan to get into programming and it'll be good for school work too since it's the middle ground for gaming and typing, right?

Yeah, unless you game like 24/7 or at a really high level browns are fine. I game on browns and they're fine for me.
I appear to have spilt some drink onto my keyboard, and somehow my F key is now sticky, and comes back up slowly, what can I do to clean it?

What switches?
Browns.
Then take it apart and clean it. There are plenty of tutorials on opening cherry switches.

do I have to take the front "plate" or whatever off of my keyboard to do that, or do any desoldering? I'm really afraid of breaking something
Filco majestouch, by the way.

Fixed it, Isopropyl is great.

Rubbing alcohol man, its the cleaning solution of champions.
Does anyone own a Rosewill keyboard? I'm leaning toward getting one with MX Reds but I keep finding people complaining that the USB connector snaps off with little to no movement of the keyboard.

The spill I had with my keyboard, being MX Cherry Blues was so bad that alcohol wouldn't fix it. I just desoldered the 3 affected keys, desoldered 3 unaffected keys (That I never use, like page up/down, I'll replace them in the future with brand new switches) and just replaced the three affected ones with those.
Well the browns are the quietest but still kind of loud while typing, not as loud as blues or buckling springs but still pretty loud.
The roomies hate the noise of my Model M
Any silent keyboards with a good tactile feel?
Cherry MX Browns are your best bet.
I'd suggest buying them some earplugs.
Browns are still loud though. Some o-rings will fix that though.
What is this oring mod people speak of?

Browns do make noise but not anywhere near the amount Blues make.

Pff, I just set my keyboard on fire.
I just went out and got the quickfire pro mx brown. I'm really enjoying it so far although I haven't tried playing any games with it. Typing feels absolutely amazing on it! If I find gaming awkward on it they said I can take it back and just pay $4 for restocking, which isn't bad at all.
Just wanted to say thanks to those who helped me here, I really appreciate it!
because sweden/europe SUCKS when it comes to mechanical keyboards I bought this a few months ago:
[img_thumb]http://www.eteknix.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/11/MK50_DSC2662-Medium.jpg[/img_thumb]
With Cherry MX Red. It's pretty nice but it took a while to get used to it. I liked the layout and I like that it doesn't make a lot of noise, but sometimes it's so smooth I don't even feel like I am pushing any keys down.
