My browns are quite annoying to people around me, my rubber domes were loud enough but these have a slightly louder sound. Is it really noticeable with the oring mod or no?

god damn this black widow sucks so bad god damnit you guys this thread recommended my this piece of shit fuck this thread
I'd never recommend one, it's whoever recommended it's fault not the rest of us.
it was in the v1 thread, i asked if blackwidow was good and i got like 5 agrees lesson learned
Facepunch is usually pretty good at recommending things, there are the odd occasions where you have to ignore everything they say. I'll never buy a Razer product again, no matter what anyone tells me. [editline]4th September 2012[/editline] Just curious what don't you like about it anyway?
it was in the v1 thread, i asked if blackwidow was good and i got like 5 agrees lesson learned
Yeah, people were still on the "MECHANICAL KEYBOARD FOR $69.99!" kick. Was one of the cheapest options at the time and there is a reason why.
it was in the v1 thread, i asked if blackwidow was good and i got like 5 agrees lesson learned
That was because it was ridiculously cheap at the time iirc. You really should get a Filco though, easily the best mechanicals.
I'd take a black widow over a rubber dome, if I could have a keyboard with blue switches. But yeah BW is brutally shit if you can get your hands on any other mech keyboard lol
The Quickfire Pro for $60 with rebate sounds like a steal, yes or no on is it worth it? I want a fullsize keyboard with browns or reds, and I think it'd be nice as a first mechanical.
Get it, I have it and I love it to death. I paid $100 for mine so if you can get it for $60 thats freakin amazing.
Yay, about to order. May have to get some O rings, I think I want a brown switch next.
Mind telling me where you're getting it from? I feel like picking up a second with red switches.
Newegg :v: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16823129008 free shipping too
..... Son of a bitch...
Who would have thought Newegg would actually have a decent deal haha
I'm getting tired of my G15, I'd like to buy a mechanical keyboard, are BlackWidows worth it for $80? I'd like a cheap one for under $70 but I could go a bit over that if needed.
Blackwidows are not worth it. What kind of switches would you be interested in?
I've been watching videos, MX Blacks seem really nice. I just don't want it to be super loud.
I've been watching videos, MX Blacks seem really nice. I just don't want it to be super loud.
What is your maximum budget?
What is your maximum budget?
I'll go up to $100, I got a little bit of extra spending money :v:
I'll go up to $100, I got a little bit of extra spending money :v:
If you are looking for a simplistic keyboard go with the Ducky. I would have recommended a Leopold but they are not in stock right now. And if you want to take the "Gamer" route I would go for the Corsair K60. The K60 has MX Reds but they are very similar to MX Blacks.

Just got my first mechanical keyboard, a KBC Poker with brown switches. Looks just like this: Bought it because I wanted to try mechanical switches, and because I have very limited desk space. Already noticed an increase in typing speed of about 10 WPM (still adjusting to the feel), thanks to the keys depressing with much less force, and returning much more quickly in comparison to the rubber domes I'm used to. Even though the switches have no auditory feedback, I really like the sound of these keys bottoming out :v: It's also a pretty well made board. Very solid feeling, especially considering the switches are directly mounted to the PCB (you can see the PCB through the gaps between the keys). Would definitely recommend it to anyone who wants a highly portable or space saving keyboard.
The only reason I don't have a poker is that they don't make them in an ISO layout.
Does anyone know if this keyboard is still available without a smartcard reader? I don't feel like spending 33 euro for a keyboard just because it comes with something i'm never going to use, and i always wanted this particular keyboard since i've seen it somewhere in a server room Also, i can't decide wether i should choose the above keyboard of if i should buy an apple-style keyboard, i'm currently using the cherry g230 and it's one of the best keyboards i had until now. I really wonder if going back to non-flat keys would just piss me off or if i would enjoy it :(
Just got a keyboard with Cherry browns. If you guys like the feel of stiff rubber-dome keyboards like Dell keyboards when they're brand new, browns feel just like that, but unmistakeably higher quality. It's like a regular cheap keyboard, but simply improved.
I KIND OF agree with you, to me its got the same actuation force of most rubber domes, but it definitely feels like switches instead of domes that kinda sink down. Its like a smoother push.
I've never felt a rubber dome that just goes down. Dell keyboards have a HUGE tactile clunk.
Dell do make very clicky rubberdomes, though. Very much so in comparison to say Logitech
I've never felt a rubber dome that just goes down. Dell keyboards have a HUGE tactile clunk.
This is because of the thickness of the rubber dome itself. Dell domes are massive compared to Logitech's.
