I only got my black widow because its the only board that can be bought retail and I cant buy online till I'm 18 (mum refuses to pay for anything online, still thinks Steam is a scam)
Get a job and buy it with your own money, I was shopping online way before I turned 18.
how? I assumed only way was credit card...
Get cash, go to a supermarket / newsagent / post office Buy a prepaid credit card / gift card They work like a visa or mastercard, but you just load it with cash once and then throw it out when you spend it Apparently you can get some that can be recharged in some places
I ideally wanted to get a Filco Majistouch 2 keyboard but they are so hard to get them shipped into Ireland, so I went with something easier to import. I am not complaining though. I am happy with this keyboard
if you live close to the border you could just ship it from keyboardco to a northern irish post office and collect it there
how? I assumed only way was credit card...
You can use a debit card, which you can use at any age. You just need to open a bank account
Fuck, my spacebar broke on my quickfire pro. There is a little plastic tab that holds the metal bar in place and it snapped, should I take it back to frys or get it warrantied by cooler master? [editline]10th September 2012[/editline] FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK, I CAN'T FIND THE GOD DAMNED RECEIPT. I fucking hope Frys has a copy. [editline]10th September 2012[/editline] Alright, apparently you can request parts from cooler master. They are going to send me a spacebar free of charge.
Typing this from my QuickFire Pro, it's so weird getting used to. It's pretty nice, but reds are a bit louder than I thought they'd be.
Its not the actual keys themselves its just when you bottom out. If you buy some o-rings you can make it a small thump
So, my BlackWidow Ultimate Stealth arrived in the mail today... [thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/3738312/Photo%2010-09-2012%2022%2009%2017.jpg[/thumb] This is my punishment for buying an expensive keyboard.
HAHA your backlighting is uneven!!! ohwait [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/59389727/IMAG0247.jpg[/t]
I kinda want the CM storm trigger just for the full backlighting and USB ports but I'm not sure if its worth the $110. I mean I know backlighting is really ricey but when I type at night I usually have to look down because I lose my place even with the F and J keys. Whenever there is light I can see the keys from my periphreal vision, but at night... Thats completely different..
Yeah I was really looking forward to getting a trigger for when I get my next rig, but honestly for $60 I don't even mind. 80% of the time it'll be off and the other 20% I'll most likely just use the WASD and arrow keys lighting.
This is my punishment for buying an shit keyboard.
FTFY.
For some reason the function keys for volume control and media players don't work :( the windows lock key works and so do the backlight keys so I'm not sure what's wrong.
You can use a debit card, which you can use at any age. You just need to open a bank account
Debit cards are like credit cards for smart people.
For some reason the function keys for volume control and media players don't work :( the windows lock key works and so do the backlight keys so I'm not sure what's wrong.
Installed the drivers? What media player, too?
iTunes, and where would I go about getting drivers for it? There's nothing on the website from what I saw and nothing came with the keyboard other than a manual that says nothing about it. [editline]11th September 2012[/editline] Oh wait I just realized I haven't restarted my computer since I plugged it in, I feel like that's the problem so hold on [editline]11th September 2012[/editline] No that didn't help at all
You did hit the FN key right? the media keys don't work unless the FN key has been pressed and is glowing.
Ahah wow, Rosewill made a new series of mechs Backlighting, USB ports, No PS/2 connector, 6 key rollover They basically made a matte Blackwidow Ultimate :v:
Looks nice, I'd still get a corsair K60/K90 or a CM storm trigger.

(most boards have USB connectors but you can put a PS/2 adaptor on and it has NKRO)
Are you sure they don't do NKRO over PS/2 with an adapter? (most boards have USB connectors but you can put a PS/2 adaptor on and it has NKRO)
According to the official news thingie on their site and almost everywhere else, there's no mention of PS/2. Only the 6 key rollover and the "~gold plated USB connector~"
Well a Ducky Shine would serve the same purpose since it has full backlighting but is really solid and isn't ricer. [editline]11th September 2012[/editline] Wow, also $150... I like the build quality of the CM Trigger, it's very solid and feels like a good backlit keyboard for the price. Are you sure they don't do NKRO over PS/2 with an adapter? (most boards have USB connectors but you can put a PS/2 adaptor on and it has NKRO)
[editline]11th September 2012[/editline] I like the quality of the CM storm trigger though, that and duck shines are $150+ and the trigger is about $110.
Ahah wow, Rosewill made a new series of mechs Backlighting, USB ports, No PS/2 connector, 6 key rollover They basically made a matte Blackwidow Ultimate :v:
I think the Blackwidow's only get 3KRO, so that's still better. 6KRO is the maximum USB can support so most likely with a PS/2 adapter it will be NKRO.
'very happily picked up one of these guys the other day. It should be here by tomorrow. I'll get some photos up asap. http://www.mechanicalkeyboards.com/shop/index.php?l=product_detail&p=134 You can have a rave with one of these gizmos!
You did hit the FN key right? the media keys don't work unless the FN key has been pressed and is glowing.
Yeah I did, all of the other FN keys work fine but the F5-F11 don't seem to be doing anything.
huh, thats just odd.
It doesn't really bother me, generally if I want to change a song I alt tab to itunes and use right arrow key, and I have a volume knob on my speakers. The keys themselves work, just not the FN part.
If you alt + tab to itunes and use the macro keys, do they work? cause I remember that I've always had to alt tab to itunes no matter what, I use winamp though.
