I do lots of typing. I've been thinking of getting a cherry mx blue keyboard of some type. But I don't know how loud it'd be (sometimes I'm up at night, I'm kind of nocturnal) in comparison to my rubber dome one. I heard there's ways to quiet them?
I've been looking at Ducky ones right now, but I don't really know what I'm getting myself in it.
There is a way to get rid of the 2nd click from when you bottom out but no matter what they will make a distinct click noise, if you want a tactile but somewhat quiet keyboard get a MX brown.
I've recently got the Corsair K90 Mechainical Keyboard and I love it. The Cherry MX Red switches feel nice and the keys have a rubbery feel on the top of them including the wrist rest. Another feature I also like about this keyboard is that the keys are lifted above the aluminum frame which makes the the blue lights shine on it.
I'm never going back to a non mechanical keyboard!
I rate this keyboard 10/10
So,
I have no experience in mechanical keyboards, but I was thinking about buying one.
Budget is around 100€ and looking for a good gaming keyboard, although I type quite a lot too.
Corsair K90/K60, CM Trigger.
I'd say the brown switch trigger over the k60 or k90
Alright so there is a VERY noticeable difference between the o-ring mod and no o-rings. The sound is reduced a bit, it makes it sound like solid thuds instead of clacks. The travel distance is barely noticeable but it depends on how thick/hard your o-rings are. if you get the softer 40A-L you will barely notice the difference, if you get the 40A-R, you will feel a solid thump instead of a light clack when you bottom out. the 50A's would be an even harder thump. You get used to it real fast but it definitely feels weird at first.
What's a good mechanical keyboard for less than $90 which does make click noises?

I was about to get a Razer BlackWidow Stealth Edition but of course they are only available from Razer themselves, so I doubt they have a Nordic edition and they are out of stock. Oh well.
Turns out I have to replace both my keyboards for health concerns. In the interest of reducing hand travel from my keyboard to my mouse, I would like to acquire a numpad-less keyboard. I'm very used to the Das Keyboard (Silent version), so if there's a keyboard with a similar feel out there and no numpad, I'd love to know.
EDIT: Nevermind, I ended up getting a Leopold Tenkeyless.
Awesome, I was going to recommend the same, or a quickfire rapid.
Just bought some USB EL wire so I can backlight my IBM model M :v:
you monster

You got lucky.
BlackWidows are shit.

Hey, I completely revived this keyboard from the dead. without me It would of been sitting in a landfill right now, if I want to be able to light it up, I will V:v:V
I'm not permanently modifying it I'm taking wire and snaking it around under the keys and plugging it in :v: I'll probably use the EL wire behind my monitor afterwards, to light the wall up..

I would never permanently modify my model M, it's my baby

My friend has one and my cousin does too. They seem fine and nice to type on when I tried it?
Actually, a backlit Model M has the potential to be kind of nifty

Low build quality, and 3kro.
Low build quality, and 3kro.
Says it has 6 kro on the razer website if I am not mistaken.
That's still pretty shitty for the asking price.

I had my Das Keyboard plugged in as USB for a few months and never noticed that I wasn't nkro. It's a gimmick for most people, and a very small benefit even for the rest.
Personal details then I guess. I hit 6kro limits frequently as I use a lot of really fucked up custom keybindings.
Still doesn't change the extremely poor build quality of the black widows.
And how ricer they look.
What would happen if I used an ANSI keyboard with an ISO keymap in windows? Would all the keys be out of place, or would everything work as normal? The reason I ask is because I've been looking at one of those small tenkeyless keyboards (KBT Pure) and I can't seem to find them with an ISO layout.
I wish the das keyboard ultimate came in matte black with no logo. Shit would be so sexy.
I may have spilt stuff inside my blackwidow ultimate and maye have broken it.. So im in need of a replacement pretty quick, been looking at the filco, either way im looking for a cherry blue and it needs to be from a company with delivery for monday / tuesday.
Any other suggestions before I buy a filco and will I notice much difference between the blackwidow and this one? Even with them both beingblue switches

Well you will notice that the Filco is significantly better built and will weigh more.
Just ordered another Filco. With blues this time. I've been wondering if I made the right decision with browns for so long now, so I finally snapped and got one with blues aswell. I might end up selling one of them, but who knows, maybe I'll keep them both and alternate between them.
Is the Black Widow Tournament edition any good for normal FPS going?
