has anyone bought a http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10850&cs_id=1080906&p_id=9433&seq=1&format=2 yet? I don't see why they aren't more popular, $50 for a mechanical MX blue keyboard...
I think I'll probably buy one and ship it over, it'd still be cheaper than buying one here.

Monoprice's international shipping is the worst I've ever seen, but according to everyone their stuff is incredible quality for the price
And this is professionals saying their $23 headphones are just as good as a $100 pair

Reship.com should do it far cheaper.
Cost me less than $50 to ship a macbook over from the States, and this can't cost as much to ship.
I've been using blues for about a week now, and I'm starting to really like them. They feel more precise to type on than browns. I have a stupidly long password on my computer, and I have to make fewer attempts (usually get it on the first try) with the blues. The reason probably being that the blues have a harder, more pronounced tactile click, so it's easier to tell if a key has been pressed or not. In the end, my typing speed is probably very similar, but with the blues being slightly more precise than the browns. I'll probably still keep my filco with browns around for gaming though. The clicks can get annoying, especially when I'm on skype with others.
Green switch masterrace FTW
Well then have fun with your green switches then. Blue switch mater race here.
What is different about the green switches from the blues?

I was JK as green switches are hard as hell to find, but greens are clicky like blue but they have stronger springs like blacks. Seriously though, greens are awesome but expensive and I'd rather buy blues.
Interesting that might be something to be on the look out for. Say how are the Unicomp buckling spring keyboards like?

They are decent, but having the real thing is much better.

If you are looking to buy one I could sell you one.

Can confirm the real thing is amazing because I own the real thing
model M REPRESENT
I'm considering buying a mechanical keyboard, but I'm worried it would take me a long time to get used to, since I have only used chiclet style keyboards. (on laptops and ultra slim keyboards)
Is this something I shouldn't be worrying about?

I have the monoprice DJ headphones. Audio quality is ok, better than most $50 headsets but the build quality is on par with $20 headsets, very uncomfortable but they do feel somewhat durable albeit cheaply made.

No. Using a keyboard is still using a keyboard and changing your typing habits depends on the kind of switch you'll be getting.

Monoprice 8323 are incredibly sturdy, I don't know what you're talking about

How much better? Could you make the keys black with no lettering?

In my personal experience, IBM keyboards are of much higher quality and have a slightly better feel to them.

I only have IBM Model M's for sale

Durable but feels cheap, hard to explain, it just feels uncomfortable to wear, also I hate pleather.
Is the Razer Blackwidow any good?
I need a mechanical keyboard with some macro keys, and microcenter has it right now.
If it's terrible, can anyone suggest a good mech keyboard with some macro keys?

The Blackwidows are really cheaply made, and use loud ass blue switches (Which are better for pure typists).
Get the Cooler Master Mechanical keyboards with the macros instead. They are brown switches, which are quieter and better for gaming with no dead zone.

Blues are just fine for gaming.

They are fine, but that dead zone is just annoying when trying to hover a key. Like when your strafing A and D.
Also, he should be aware they are pretty loud. Which I love for myself, but nobody around you will.
I didn't have a problem getting used the blue keys.

I read about this carefully when I first got my Das and this has never come to be a problem in over a year of using it now.
Ok, so I'm considering buying a mechanical.
I'm in the UK, and I don't want to be shipping anything.
I will be going to uni next year, so it needs to be nice to type on, but also I play games like TF2 and GMod, but I'm not a serious gamer or anything.
I have come down to Blue through reading, but I'm sure you guys know more about what switch would suit me than I do. I don't want any fancypants stuff, but I can't really justify spending a large amount of money, so £100 is my hard cash limit.
TLDR I know blues are good to type on but is casual TF2 doable on them?

Blues are going to be fine for games. I would suggest that you look at Browns too though. I would recommend getting a Filco from these guys if you can afford it. They're also based in the UK, so the shipping will be fine. Getting some key pullers (you need 2 to get off the spacebar) is also a good idea for cleaning it.
