What country are you / would you be willing to ship to the UK for a reasonable price?
US, and I doubt it would be worth it after shipping. I'd like to get at least $50 for it (not including shipping).
Is it the model with blank keycaps? If not then I may be able to buy it.
Regular version. It's a little over a year old and the keys have gotten to be a bit shiny from all of the use it gets. The lettering is in overall decent shape, but you can tell that some keys get used more than others (WASD especially). You could always switch out the keycaps, though. Here's a pic, probably not very good since it's from my phone. I should probably clean it soon.
Just learn to solder, it's easy and even I was able to fix my micro USB port on my ducky KB. I'd go with the quickfire though because those new ones are so nice looking.
Oh, talking about extra keyboards, I have two Das Keyboards Silent S for sale. The ones with printed keys, not the blanks. Obviously I'm cleaning them both beforehand. I smoked so much over them it'd probably count as exporting illegal goods if I don't. PM me offer, you cover shipping from Quebec, Canada, G1S 2P3 (not my address, but same city).
Do you like it better than the Das? I like that it doesn't have a numpad.
Yes and no. The build quality of the Das is a tad bit better, but hardly (not nearly enough to make up for the difference in cost...the QFR was $52 after rebate, Das was $108). I really like the tenkeyless design of the QFR and I also like the grey rubberized shell compared to the glossy shell of the Das. I've been switching back and forth between both of them and I can't really say I like one over the other. My Das has browns and the QFR has blues, both of which I like equally. Bottom line: I like the QFR better at this point in time. Who knows what I'll think a week from now.
Well after over a month of using the filco browns I really do like it more then the blackwidow ultimate seems alot nicer to type on

I've noticed that the switches feel different on the blackwidow when compared to other keyboards with blues. Not sure if it's just me, but I swear razer does something to them.

When you bottom out, you get a different feedback compared to higher quality boards. It seems to be less 'chunky'.
it does [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] it's not like the black widow is super flimsy or anything it just has cheap thin ass keycaps
it does [editline]13th December 2012[/editline] it's not like the black widow is super flimsy or anything it just has cheap thin ass keycaps
It might have a metal backplate but it sure as hell is not steel.
I have had the chance to test the arrow keys on the black widow and I think that my Das with the blue switches does better.
It might have a metal backplate but it sure as hell is not steal.
no but its steel

Oh and I should probably add, being resistent to the occasional fist to the middle of the keyboard would be a nice bonus. [editline]14th December 2012[/editline] Oh yeah! Another thing, with the Storm Trigger, can I lay my palm over the keyboard and have it register all the keypresses at once? My old G6V2 had that and I really miss that feature because I cannot strafe forward and jump at the same time as I'm using the number keys to select weapons in games with my current rubberdome keyboard.

When I got my PS3 from a smoker, I had to take the entire thing apart and wash nearly everything (Minus the motherboard, Bluray drive, HDD and PSU PCB) in hot, soapy water to get the smell off. I imagine a keyboard would be really tricky to clean.
I have cleaned dope crumbs out of keyboards before, wasn't all that bad.
Crumbs are one thing, getting cigarette smell out is another.

I'm pretty sure a razer product is about as "cool gamer" as it gets
what's your point [editline]15th December 2012[/editline] nobodys advocating the purchase of a black widow and i would never spend my money on such pos
I'd spend money on one if it was dirt cheap say, $50 otherwise for the price of a blackwidow I'd just go get something..uh, better.
What's a nice black with blue backlit keys mechanical keyboard? I personally would prefer Blue Cherry MX but I'm open to anything.
