the dumbest thing is that you can set it up so keys light up when you press them, why would that ever be useful? when you press a button your finger is blocking it
I imagine the one where the keys splash out with light when you press them would provide some nice eye candy but I touch type so It would be wasted on me :v:
it would be fun to play with I guess, and if you can program the lights it would be interesting but you could have more fun with a LCD screen and an arduino or something.
Would be pretty cool if there was an API to control the lights - could take my old g15vis program to the next level :v
Would be pretty cool if there was an API to control the lights - could take my old g15 music visualiser to the next level :v
Oh boy g15 + winamp + custom visualizer was the shit [editline]4th January 2013[/editline] sadly I spilled coke in my g15 and it forced me to buy a model M for £40 from Ebay best accident forced decision ever
I got a Roccat Isku myself. I love the key layout, but the keyboard itself gets boring after a week or two. It's pretty good to write with though :)

Am I the only one that does not like big wrist wrest for keyboards?
Oh man, my new keyboard just arrived. Completely worth the price I paid for it, using it is an amazing tactile and audible experience and it arrived within 22 hours of ordering it. Outstanding. I remember it being like $60 before and now the lowest I'm seeing is $80 :( [editline]5th January 2013[/editline] oh christ the blue version is on sale on newegg for $67... will I keep my family up playing counter strike on that at night?

Never heard any complaints from them. If there's a door between you and them, it's fine.
I've been so tempted to use the anciest mechanical keyboard I gave to my sister but I use all the media keys on the top of my keyboard, as well it's wireless and I sometimes take it to my armchair :( I wanna get the Corsair Vengeance K90 and then maybe some nice decks :D
went ahead and bought the one with blues
What is the cheapest black keyboard with blue backlighting and cherry blues? [editline]7th January 2013[/editline] I found this on amazon, any good? http://www.amazon.co.uk/Cougar-Attack-Gaming-Mechanical-Keyboard/dp/B008POA3XM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1357521072&sr=8-2
Honestly, save your eyes and keep the lights on. Shortsightedness is a curse.
Honestly, save your eyes and keep the lights on. Shortsightedness is a curse.
I'm already short sighted v:v:v I don't want them for looking at the keys that much, as it's usually bright enough, but I just want it to match the rest of my desk
It arrived. [IMG_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9669849/dasbox.png[/IMG_thumb]
So my brother's new keyboard arrived, and all I can say is: the gigabyte osmium needs to be recommended more. On top of what appears to be hardware-based macros, its build quality far exceeds that of the steelseries 7g (keys don't randomly fall off or wobble under your finger), the keycaps are the best finish I have ever felt (subtle rubbery effect) and the backlighting is the best I have ever seen. I'm normally totally indifferent to backlighting, but those individual LEDs are pretty impressive. Overall probably one of the best gaming-oriented/linear switch keyboards.
I got my keyboard. [t]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/7333627/pics/IMG_20130108_135023.jpg[/t] Can you spot the reason why I need to return it? [editline]8th January 2013[/editline] Hint: [sp]I'm American.[/sp]

[editline]8th January 2013[/editline] Hint: [sp]I'm American.[/sp]
Damn, typing on that would be annoying for me. I'd hit all the right buttons on American keyboard but coming up with the wrong characters, just like you would.

Got a Cherry ML4100 for free. It owns.
how does that even happen
My first guess was that I had misread the Amazon page but no, the model number on the Amazon page clearly denotes the American layout so I guess they just got mixed up somewhere.
My first guess was that I had misread the Amazon page but no, the model number on the Amazon page clearly denotes the American layout so I guess they just got mixed up somewhere.
My friend bought a CM keyboard from an Amazon seller but got a french layout rather than a UK one. Got it sorted, but anyway still a pain.
