That UK layout is absolutely fucked, I have never even seen one being from Australia. US layouts everywhere.
Oh, and a month or two ago I got a QPAD mk-50 with blues. Mini review: Pros -Blue switch is awesome -Feels Very Solid -UK Layout is pretty much spot on Cons -Says we heart gaming on the bottom, seems a bit annoying for a keyboard I mostly type on. Also the Q letter is their symbol rather than the font used on the rest of the keyboard. -Uses the same chassis as the higher end model, so all of the ports are simply blocked out by plastic. This makes it look a bit cheaper than if they were using a dedicated chassis (but probably cost is the reason) -Keyboard has a PS2 connector with a USB adapter, would prefer this the other way round as I can see the PS2-USB adapter getting lost easily, and they are no where near as common as the other way round. It was the cheapest board I could find with blues, definitely do not regret and would probably buy again if I was in the same situation.
I like the UK layout, I'm from the UK, duh I have an american model M because the only UK one I could find I was outbid on
So this thing just got released as well: http://www.corsair.com/us/k95/?utm_source=Corsair&utm_medium=Website&utm_content=K95&utm_campaign=FrontPage I'm wondering how I am supposed to get money enough for it. My current keyboard is only 6 month old :(
I would love that if only it didn't have the ridiculous amount of macro keys I'll never use. But that's what their other keyboards are for I guess.
Do you get that little click feel with cherry mx red?
Do you get that little click feel with cherry mx red?
No, they're linear switches.
Do you get that little click feel with cherry mx red?
No, if you want tactility you need either browns or blues.
Can you change switches on mechanical keyboards? (Never used a mechanical before :( )
This configuration is superior if you're using ps/2, I believe
The adapter is dumb(as in inactive, its a straight pass through) either way you do it, so it's not like it has any impact. I use PS2 with my desktop, and if I take it somewhere with my laptop I of course have to use PS2 with the adapter. On my friend Steelseries, it has a USB connector and an adapter to make it go into PS2. The thing is, I'd much rather have to use an adapter on my desktop (where I can leave it at home) than have to carry it around with my laptop where it'l probably get lost. It's a minor annoyance, but still I can see the tiny adapter getting lost very fast. On the QPAD: On the other keyboards i've used:
Is there a reason that the ps/2 adapter with my quickfire rapid doesn't seem to work? Plugging it in through ps/2 does nothing, but it works fine through usb. Do I need to enable something somewhere?

my motherboard has a mouse and keyboard combined ps/2 port :v:
you have to have it plugged in when you start your PC
I thought I had, but it worked when I rebooted, so thanks for reminding me. Works fine now
Can you change switches on mechanical keyboards? (Never used a mechanical before :( )
switches that are mounted directly on the pcb can be pried open with a screwdriver switches mounted on a metal plate has to be desoldered before being opened either way once the switch is disassembled you can swap out the stem and spring etc. to your liking [editline]9th January 2013[/editline] uh cherry switches that is

Just out of curiosity, how do you guys stand your keyboard? laid flat, or the little feet standing it up a bit? I had my quickfire rapid propped up, but I almost think I'm liking typing on it flat more.

Yeah, I've always been raised but I don't know this board is so nice flat. Also, I find my left wrist area start hurting a lot after typing recently :v: time to get a wrist rest?
raised until one of the feet broke ;-; and I haven't found a replacement.
It arrived. [IMG_thumb]https://dl.dropbox.com/u/9669849/dasbox.png[/IMG_thumb]
this is odd we have the same mouse and monitor (and soon enough keyboard)
What do you guys think of the Qpad Mk-80 with cherry MX blues?
2 questions: 1. Why do people like linear over tactile? 2. Is linear good to write on?
Snip. Okay do not knew what I am talking about and too little sleep makes me a bad poster.
this is odd we have the same mouse and monitor (and soon enough keyboard)
I upgraded to an M950 mouse though. :v:
2 questions: 1. Why do people like linear over tactical? 2. Is linear good to write on?
People like linear over tactile mainly for playing games, though some people do just prefer the feel of them. Tactile switches are normally considered better for typing on.
Why is linear better for playing games? And does it work like a joystick, where the harder you press the faster your character/car moves?
.. dude use your fucking brain it comes down to what you like the feel of the most and what works for you
