Yeah, but my Das has Blue's and I didn't wanna get another Cherry board, and I'm a minimalist freak. This thing suits me so well on a personal level, which is one reason why it's just so satisfying to have and use.
It sounds SO DAMN GOOD. The chunkiness man!

I think that guy might be bottoming out more than me, or harder. Either way, that video is really loud. Mine isn't nearly as loud when I type. Then again, I try to only type to the actuation point.
Maybe I'll make a video tomorrow for shits.

Ducky are pretty well recommended keyboards.

I have a Ducky and they're fantastic. They may not be Filcos but they're pretty damn solid.
I wouldn't really consider them entry-tier either.

Yes, you did very good. Ducky boards are great. Also what's entry tier about it?

Duckies are basically Filcos for the backlight user.

I wouldn't go as far to call Duckies on par with Filcos but they are still great keyboards.

Well, I can't think off the top of my head any better constructed minimalist backlit boards. Then again I am tired so yeah.

ok but not all duckies are backlit
Oh thank god I thought I made a bad choice.
There really isn't a bad choice for a mechanical keyboard unless you just buy a switch you don't like or you buy a BlackWidow. Or just overpay in general.
what's wrong with the blackwidow?
or does that dislike only apply to keyboard fetishists?
what's wrong with the blackwidow?

It's in my opinion the worst mechanical keyboard you can purchase.
And you base this opinion on what factors? (my original question)

Terrible build quality, Non steel back plate, Gimmicky Razer product.
The only Razer product that I think is worth anything is the Deathadder and I don't even like that, but it is a decent mouse.
My CM Quickfire TK (Blues) came today and wow does it feel much better than the rubber domes that I've been using forever.

This, and if they wanted to really make it a gaming keyboard they would have used a switch like Black or Red. Maybe Brown. I love the hell out of Blue's but I can see why people wouldn't like gaming on them.
Damn, I like the look of the Ducky DK9008S with blue backlighting..
Got my K90 half a year ago too, wondering if it's worth cleaning it up and putting it back in it's box to see how much it can go for :v: Then put towards a Ducky, little bit of a waste I know but I have no need for all these macro keys and the Ducky looks more sleaker. Feel like I may have jumped the gun as the Mechanical keyboard thing started going. How much of the price do you reckon I'd get back? I bought the K90 for £100 so I'd rather get some money back than have it wasting.

My mate from college bought a blackwidow, it broke 2 days after it arrived.
He RMA'd it, and the one he was sent back isn't right either.

I like gaming on my blues. I tried blacks on a mates keyboard and didn't like the lack of feedback.
-snip-
Blues are actually kind of nice for RTS' but I find they're annoying as hell with FPS'.
I know a lot of SC2/WC3/DOTA/LoL pros use browns, but blues just aren't optimal for gaming because of them taking longer to reset than other switches.
ok but not all duckies are backlit
I thought that it would be clear that I was only talking about the backlit ones.
It doesn't really bother me much using blues for my fps's, you just need to keep the switch just before it activates then repeatedly press while keeping it at just before activation.
Or you just not bottom out the key every time you press it.
[editline]24th January 2013[/editline]
That's part of the reason of having a mechanical.
I do not bottom them out when I need to press them repeatedly fast, though in typing I do just because I like to.
