Browns or Reds or Blues for gaming and a little typing, gogogogogoogogoggogogo
Browns or Blues. Blues if you want more click clack, Browns if you're ok with just a tactile feel.
Browns or Blues. Blues if you want more click clack, Browns if you're ok with just a tactile feel.
I personally like cherry clear, but they are hard to find. They are basically stiffer browns, they are hard to bottom out but still have a tactile point.
I have tried all the more common cherries now. I don't like reds, to light for me, blues, nice to type on but the click isn't what i want, blacks are bland to type with. I like brown and clear the most, Deck Legend Tactile and a Ducky Shine with browns were what I used them with.
Try out blues and browns as a base line, Best Buy carries blue and brown boards in store.
are there any trouble spots i should look out for when removing the space bar and the other long keys from my razer blackwidow if i were to install rubber 0-rings on it?
I'm going to get browns because of the reduced noise levels.
I'd imagine since I type so fast they'd sound like bombs going off and I share a room with somebody so probably not a good idea.

Nice!
Also, Blues are loud but they're not like...buckling spring loud. When I first got my Das people in my house were like "What the hell is that noise??" and three days later no one was really questioning or complaining about it. Even with my door open the sound wasn't that audible down the hallway (about 30 feet).

lmao, yeah I've been typing a bunch on my membrane keyboard and it's been pissing my brother off considerably since he literally sits right next to me, but it tends to blend in as background noise after someone gets used to it... But I type over 100wpm so I didn't want to punish him severely because of my purchase of a better keyboard, and just saw that deal out of the blue (ding)
Plus I think I'd like the 'bump' instead of the click since I'm already confident in my typing speed and accuracy (100wpm average 97+% accuracy)

why do you feel it's necessary to keep reminding us of how fast you type in each and every post you make
why do you feel it's necessary to keep reminding us of how fast you type in each and every post you make
It's a deciding factor in the purchase... and I've been typing a bunch so type type type is in my mind.
I don't think my typing speed is very impressive, I was hoping I could type a tiny bit faster on a mechanical keyboard compared to my membrane too. (but that's not the whole reason I got one)
edit: I looked at my previous posts on this page and I didn't mention how fast I type... someone's exaggerating!

I'm not boasting. I was taking into account how fucking loud the keyboard would be, you guys are a lil' pesky.
edit:
boasting:
Talk with excessive pride and self-satisfaction about one's achievements, possessions, or abilities.
(I mentioned I'm not proud of my speed, if I was excessively proud about my typing I wouldn't be getting a mechanical keyboard, and this is a KEYBOARD thread btw
I may have mentioned it a few times because like I said I've been typing a whole fucking bunch on a bunch of typing games, and when you're grinding something in your head you may talk about it more than someone who isn't doing that sort of thing)

If you don't wipe off some of the keys and aluminum they attract a lot of dust

Do you know what's worse? It's a filco. Could he not have done that to a CMStorm QF Rapid? I would have expected it then.

It's not mine, but the guy ordered a set off of WASD Keyboards. They have a "retro" preset and you can just order the keycaps.

$80 for keycaps... Hmm...
Well somehow I've blown $30 on these, from here.
Why
Yeah the blues can be quite nice, though I think that I might just want to try out the clears form what 4till3ry says about them.

cylindrical dye sublimated two-piece
can anyone help me to locate the screws on my quickfire rapid? I've been googling around and every page I find has a different answer
there's one screw under the sticker
and there's four plastic tabs holding the case together, two at the bottom and two at the top
use something flat and disengage them

kind of flimsy man
i'd spend my money on something else
Mass Drop is having a vote on Topre keyboards. https://www.massdrop.com/vote/realforce-keyboard/ Looks like the HHKB is going to win by a mile so if you're interested in getting one, this might be the chance to get one for way cheaper than it's normally priced.
