Mint 11, a few hours ago :( edit: I think I just whipped windows off my harddrive
You're supposed to install it side-by-side. Doesn't Mint use the same installer as Ubuntu?
Ehh, My first distro was Arch Linux, With a friend's help, In a VM. My latest distro is Linux Mint 12.
Suse. I was about 7 when my dad first dual booted it with Windows. I loved playing super tux.
Backtrack...
Backtrack...
That dragon background is beyond 1337
Ubuntu 6.10 was my first distribution, as a good friend was handing them out on my school. But i quite only started livecd and noticed that like nothing was correctly supported and quickly changed back to windows that time. Today i prefer FreeBSD / XFCE!
-snip- wrong thread
Slackware 9 the cd came with a magazine a relative bought me in 2002(?), I dicked about in it and struggled with package dependencies for about 2 years until i discovered Ubuntu 5.04 and started passing the fancily packaged livecd around at school the only desktop based linux I use now is Backtrack for testing corporate networks (that I manage). The rest I use now are all cli managed Enterprise Suse, Debian and Ubuntu based servers.
I think it was ubuntu 7.x or 8.04 don't remember. Had it on my older computer because it got slow, though i never really used it alot and got back to it when 10.04 came and installed it dualboot on my iMac. Now when i got a laptop form my school, i've been using ubuntu every day running 11.10 and the 12.04 beta and now release. It's alot more fun when you get older and learn the console commands. I'm 16 now so i was 12 when i first used Linux.
Ubuntu 8.04 or 8.10, back in 2007 i think.
When I was little, my father gave me a desktop with Lindows on it, it was p. awesome, came with DOOM and Quake II. [editline]15th May 2012[/editline] And Warcraft I think [editline]15th May 2012[/editline] Since last year, the only linux thing i've been using has been my Nokia N900 with Maemo 5, and the most recent being Fedora 17 as of a few days ago.
My first was Ubuntu 9.04 Juanty Jackalope, I hated my Pentium 4 piece of shit. I now own a Toshiba Piece of Satellite shit M100 with Ubuntu 12.04 (Windows 7 raped itself).
FreeBSD 2.1. i'm old as shit.
Red Hat Linux 9 right after it was released.
Ubuntu hardy heron. now i am using crunchbang XD
RedHat 6... Boy I feel old.
Ubuntu 12.04...as of 4-5 hours ago.
Ubuntu 5.10 though I didn't really use it until 6.06 released.
Ubuntu 7.04, but it didn't work on my laptop's hardware until 8.04, everything suddenly worked automagically.
Knoppix, though the first the one I installed was Mandrake Linux. Both I played with about 10 years ago so I have no idea what version it was.
Fedora Core (I think 0.98 RC - codename "Severn"?).
Guadalinex, a ubuntu based distro with all kind of applications and stuff. It sucks.
Ubuntu 10.04 or 9.10. Can't really remember.
knoppix when i was in grade 6 in 2006.
Linux mint but I don't remember which version and when
I used openSUSE back in 2004, I remember downloading all those damn ISOs over my shitty DSL, then having graphics issues with the setup. Good times. After that, I ordered 50 ubuntu CDs (They were free at the time) and used 6.whatever
My very first non-Windows experience was a FreeBSD shell, but my first experience with Linux was on Gentoo and Debian.
