that quote says nothing about custom cards, just "enthusiast-class gaming hardware" which it states includes "high-end processors and graphics cards" [editline]17th October 2010[/editline] also I never though I'd see anyone more more moist for AMD than BmB but here we have it
I own two MARS in "SLI"... so you were saying? The quote is rather germane to Odellus' interesting assumption that no one cares about custom SKUs, despite the fact that every AIB on the planet has different offerings despite receiving the same chip; which is somewhat akin to saying: Lisa: “I’m going to become a vegetarian” Homer: “Does that mean you’re not going to eat any pork?” “Yes” “Bacon?” “Yes Dad” "Ham?” “Dad, all those meats come from the same animal!” “Right Lisa, some wonderful, magical animal!”
so your only point is that ATI is selling more
You're the one whose opinion apparently outweighs actual facts, you tell me.

Factory overclocked GPUs are stupid, and fall under the category of custom.
what other vendors have they lost besides XFX (and no they didn't lose BFG)
Actually their involvement is what cause them to lose BFG. They refused to supply them properly and because of it they went bankrupt. Nvidia is digging a nice deep grave for themselves.
I didn't know this. I thought BFG just didn't have enough sales.
Here's the issue. BFG was suffering due to the delay of Fermi, the only thing keeping them alive was PSU sales. In the meantime ATI was selling huge and everyone was ignoring Nvidia through this market gap. Nvidia had a plan to start selling their own stock cards through a partnership with Best Buy, the same people who were partnered with BFG. Prices of the Fermi boards were too much for BFG. They were forced to sell the series at a high cost but ultimately didn't see enough sales and came too late into the Fermi game. BFG was heading near bankruptcy so they dropped their video card line and kept selling PSU's. Best Buy noticed what was going on and decided to drop BFG all together as a partner. As a last resort BFG secretly had a plan to sell ATI cards but apparently didn't get the official OK from ATI before asking for all these cards to be built. BFG then ceased all production on the ATI branded cards and left the manufacturer hung and dry with a huge order of cards that were already being build and packaged which had to be thrown away. BFG was completely screwed both ways and eventually ended up filing bankruptcy and liquidating their assets. Then just recently Best Buy partnered with Nvidia to sell video cards directly from them. Coincidence? I don't think so.

A little early to be disappointed.

Tech-Connect has a card and it's full bundle from XFX. http://www.tcmagazine.com/tcm/news/hardware/31096/xfx-radeon-hd-6850-hd-6850-suffer-through-photo-shoot
Jesus christ that's ugly
You're not supposed to pet it.
