i think the black styled newsreader could pass off as being 2k-ish, but I don't know anything about skinning gadgets. it's seriously difficult to find a weather widget that still connects to a server successfully let alone one with skinning options
Simple. And also tragic.

Perfect, now I can see what it is

Why is it blurred though? Do you work with a lot of transparent windows?

I kinda just like having blurry wallpapers, no specific reason to why.

it's a lot easier to see the sharp edges of desktop icons on a blurry or simple image when you're working with things on the desktop
i have finally created the perfect windows 2000 fever dream (except with widgets cuz i like em). also uses the utopia sound scheme

I've done this before with Windows 7. Unfortunately, I can't find a reliable way to go about this without potentially destroying my computer through:
a.) stupid adware that comes with UXTheme patchers for Windows 10
b.) Windows 10 updates that actually broke Windows installations in November because of updates to the UI
trying to do classic themes on anything newer than Windows 7 is a good way to seriously fuck up your system files. I did it in 8.1 and fucked my install up so bad I ended up wiping the drive and just installing 7 again.
not to mention you can't skin the taskbar at all on Windows 10, even with a patched uxtheme.dll
It's not just classic themes, but custom themes.

i used IconPackager (from StarDock) and made my own iconpack for it from a big compilation of icons I found on the internet. the program costs $9.99 but there's a trial version if you wanted to test it out.
the link to the iconpack is here: https://mega.nz/#!L5FwAb6K

if you want to do all the icons manually, you can download the same archive i did here: http://alexstrand7.deviantart.com/art/Win-2000-Icon-pack-2-173805791

I knew that, tangentially; same thing with transparent windows. It's a lot easier to read text when the background behind it is blurred.

disagreed. uxtheme patches are not inherently dangerous and there are hundreds of themes that don't modify any system files other than that. it's more when you get into really complex theming with explorer replacements and shell modifications that the real danger is. which, on 8.1/10 systems, would be the only way to get an accurate Classic theme. turning off DWM is a Big Deal™

Care to share where you get all your wallpapers from?

There was an November update that bricked systems and wouldn't let them start up without endless black flickering. Do you have a link to a reliable UXTheme patcher since then?

I was thinking it must be a (somewhat) older laptop, because of the little button smack dab in the middle of the keyboard. :v:

I always call it the nipple mouse.
i like calling it the clit mouse when my less computer literate friends are around
the looks they give me are gold
My friend seriously just calls it "The Clit™". (The "™" is for IM conversations)
