Just use an OS until it's so old that nobody makes or distributes viruses for it any more
I saw someone actually offering that as advice on reddit. It wasn't even something weird and old like BeOS but he was talking about XP.
Pretty simple

I find the Holiday! thing kinda cute tbh imma steal it.
i think he means he hasn't used a new OS since vista maybe? and not that he hasn't run any updates on the machine
at least i'm really hoping so. please don't tell me you just installed OEM vista or XP and have been using that all this time without running a single update
Started on Vista, later upgraded to 7. I guess I should correct myself that I haven't technically updated my OS since 2009 (7's release), not 2007.
But what I actually meant was that I never installed any updates besides Service Pack 1 and never really bothered to clean/ maintain my HDD over the years. Over time my HDD was getting bloated with unused software, broken drivers, unnecessary plug-ins, etc. And I'm sure switching through 3 different motherboards over the years didn't help either. It wasn't until when my computer started crashing at least once a day that it finally pushed me to reinstall my OS and start over from a clean slate. My laziness knows no bounds. :v:
It's nice, though. My computer is blazing fast again and I can finally turn on my Wacom Cintiq and do my work in Photoshop without it accidentally crashing Windows Explorer every time. :v:
First non-anime wallpaper in a long time, so I thought I'd share.

Just simple rainmeter skins, with a tiny bit of editing.

I'm in an owl phase right now
I like the first one, can you link the wallpaper?
I edited it a bit to go with my color scheme but here's the original.

This is the wallpaper off of my Surface Pro 4. Just finished setting this one up and so far I'm really liking it. The wallpaper is really easy on the eyes at night once I dim the brightness.

what?? XP was the most used OS straight through 2008 and well into Win7's release. and even then, people thought you were crazy to give up the stability of XP for Vista/7
[editline]13th August 2016[/editline]
i personally would have stuck with XP until i absolutely needed to upgrade

after I updated from XP to 7, suddenly I could play source games on my integrated graphics card without bluescreens
[editline]14th August 2016[/editline]
IIRC I wanted to play just cause 2 (DirectX),
had to save up for a graphics card though
i think not having a discrete GPU in 2008 is a much worse predicament than still using XP. I'd consider that time period to be part of XP's heyday anyway

classic shell truly is my shit, despite having to compromise a couple theme ideas and ending up with a Win2k/XP hybrid

i seriously change up my whole computer theme every month or two. keeps things fresh. I also had to go back to 7 from 10 because the Anniversary Update really rustled my jimbos
