He's running GNU/Linux, most likely he is using Conky. (not available for Windows)

Haven't bothered putting Linux on my virtual machine yet and I haven't even touched my tiles. Noh8pls
I plan on using Arch or Ed/Ubuntu once I do get to putting Linux on.

you could probably use [url=http://www.angusj.com/resourcehacker/]Resource Hacker[/url] to directly replace the icon with something else in the EXE.

I've already tried that. Can't remember why, but it didn't work.
Nice and clean. I enjoy the default windows solid colors more than anything. Just swapping colors changes the mood nicely.
