Looks a touch off because my two side monitors have more vertical pixels than my main. (I'm also a fan of the Empire)

Left to right - 900x1440 (Vertical), 1080p, 1080p. Processor is clocked at 4.2GHz and the 900x1440 is being driven by the mobo dvi at the moment while I wait for a mini-displayport adapter. gfx card is a 7950.

and why is that warez? it could be, don't take me wrong, but Octodad, FTL and SMB could all be shortcuts. Just Cause 2 and Starmade could have been installed on his desktop for all we know

Octodad is an Admin Shortcut, steam shortcuts don't link directly too the game, only mimick a steam URI
FTL isn't a shortcut at all, it's an exe
Starmade is only avaliable to steam/steam library folders, the desktop is not a steam library
Just Cause 2 gets installed weirdly and put in the games folder if not installed via steam (Thanks GFWL)

octodad can be purchased outside of Steam, same goes with FTL, starmade is currently free for download, aand you can specify where you want to install your games in Steam
in the end, I doubt anyone really cares if the stuff is warez or not, as long as he's not openly bragging about it or posting pictures with obvious warez

FTL was purchased outside steam and Octodad is the original preview of the game, not dadliest catch.

He could have gone to the exe in SteamApps and made the shortcut, and it could be set to run as administrator.
I think FTL was a Humble Bundle game at one point.
You already admitted you were thinking Starbound.
Who says that's even a JC2 install folder? It could be a folder with a bunch of files related to it (mod downloads perhaps).

So, i was after an old windows 95 theme (Electric!).
After searching through lots of old discs (Damn! I even managed to find a original Unreal disc!), i found it (after all, i used to love it as a child).
