i never got why windows' taskbar is at the bottom by default. in every windows application, the tabs etc. are the top also
If you have the panel at the bottom, the window controls appear less cluttered. If you've got a window maximized or something, its easier to hit the buttons, and looks better. Since the controls are on the top right in Windows, you might hit the show desktop button, or notifications, or the clock. On Apple, they've designed their panel to be on the top. Most window controls are sent to the panel, hidden by default. The controls are on the top left, and there's not much to hit/see on the top left. Also, the buttons are slightly padded part from each other, unlike Windows. Ubuntu's Unity goes one step further and merges the window controls of maximized windows in the panel. Its just easier to put a panel on the bottom. Honestly I prefer the way Windows does it, putting the running applications in the panel. OSX splits those into the dock.
the way OS X does it is kinda confusing at first but i'm starting to think it makes things a lot less cluttered in the long run though you have to focus on a window to see the control tabs, but that's not that big of a deal
Seeing as fan made steam theme has been released, I decided to give it a try. [t]https://i.imgur.com/yZzFJK4.jpg[/t]

[t]http://puu.sh/8jNs0.jpg[/t] Nothing special.
For wallpapers, I end up having to find gigantic pictures and crop them in Photoshop hoping they fit well. Some turn out nice, though. [t]http://puu.sh/8jRju.jpg[/t]
Finally found something that I am happy with

Hate that frog. [t]http://i.cubeupload.com/DPtgFR.png[/t]
It's almost complete. All that's left is making some things and settings start automatically upon login, get GTK theming working again, and finding a good terminal color scheme that isn't Solarized. It doesn't have good contrasting colors and makes words hard to read. [t]http://a.pomf.se/zvehmw.png[/t] ...And maybe Conky if I'm feeling up to it.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/dBqbr9V.jpg[/t] This is my laptop, I keep it clean and that is about it. It's nothing special, but it gets the job done.
[t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/965202/desktop.jpg[/t] I'm a very simple man. I don't like anything other than actual content distracting me.
[t]http://i.imgur.com/nmms64w.png[/t] Not showing explorer since it's still pretty ugly. Taskbar icons subject to change. As well as wallpaper.
Whenever i play games: [t]http://puu.sh/8EpG5.jpg[/t] Featuring the STGYM Chat.
