My extremely boring windows partition. [t]https://josm.uk/i/Untitled.png[/t] (Just bought Elite: Dangerous. Looking forward to playing it.)
[t]http://i.imgur.com/WP1II5B.png[/t] Empty...almost. [t]http://i.imgur.com/TglYfmo.png[/t] Busy; in clockwise order: irssi, vim, vim, mc (Midnight Commander), mocp (Music on Console). Finally made the switch and am no longer some *buntu loser. Definitely going to have to recommend Void over it now, it's cool. Bask in its runit glory.
I've never heard of void. What's good about it?
I've never heard of void. What's good about it?
http://voidlinux.eu/ Basically the XBPS package manager and that it uses runit for its init system instead of Upstart (earlier Ubuntu) or systemd (Fedora, Debian, Ubuntu, Arch, almost any mainstream distro). I like it because the void-installer is just as simple as it was to install Ubuntu and takes five minutes to install. From the GitHub page on XBPS:
* Supports multiple local and remote repositories (HTTP/HTTPS/FTP). * RSA signed remote repositories (NEW in 0.27). * SHA256 hashes for package metadata, files and binary packages. * Supports package states (ala dpkg) to mitigate broken package installs/updates. * Ability to resume partial package install/updates. * Ability to unpack only files that have been modified in package updates. * Ability to use virtual packages. * Ability to check for incompatible shared libraries in reverse dependencies. * Ability to replace packages. * Ability to put packages on hold (to never update them. NEW in 0.16). * Ability to preserve/update configuration files. * Ability to force reinstallation of any installed package. * Ability to downgrade any installed package. * Ability to execute pre/post install/remove/update scriptlets. * Ability to check package integrity: missing files, hashes, missing or unresolved (reverse)dependencies, dangling or modified symlinks, etc. * Low memory footprint. * Fast dependency resolver and sorting algorithms.
Other things include mdoc, the lack of the GNU coreutils on install (but you can `xbps-install coreutils` separately), and being awesome.

[t]http://a.pomf.se/isgaqz.png[/t] Probably need to change the background soon. That one was taken by some guy who took a lucky shot on a plane and then made the front-page of Reddit.
