desktop icons are acceptable in small quantities
they get a lot more reasonable if you install Fences and have it set to hide them on double clicking your wall

Why post your desktop if you're not comfortable with judgement? You can't ask others to just ignore it, because then what's the point of posting it?

Are there any themes/visual styles/whatever they're called and icons you guys use?
It's really down to personal preference.
