on some site reviewing it and stuff when it was first announced was supposed to be released in June. Can't find the site now, and this is way awesome'er now.
Intel has never outright stated that the desktop i5 or i7 chips will release in June. Any site that claimed that is merely reporting rumors which is bad journalism.

Also, what would happen if I were to say.. get 4 way SLI GTX 680s, would they melt because of how hot they would run? if so, what's the best cooler IN THE WORLD? dun care about price. as you can see im interested in buying 4 680s..
GTX 680 can only do 3 way SLI currently. Unless you want tri SLI + a PhysX processor card.
Also, buying three flagship cards without much of an apparent idea about what you're doing with computers is generally a pretty silly idea.
I find this whole thread madness lol! By the end of the day I will post a build for so much less that will do so much more for you. Be patient, don't go diving in to your pockets and start buying shit yet!

I'm still deciding on either the new ASUS 7970 model or 680, since 680 apparently runs really hot and the ASUS Model of 7970 runs better and is much cooler.
Well if that's so do you think I should wait until they fix the problem or just buy Kepler 680?
Holy crap did you even read the link? They can't fix the problem, it's a hardware fault with the cooler being too heavy for the support and pulling away from the PCB.
Holy crap did you even read the link? They can't fix the problem, it's a hardware fault with the cooler being too heavy for the support and pulling away from the PCB.
I read the report and somewhere in it it said that "don't buy this card until they fix it" so I assumed that it was fixable.
They didn't fix it with the 5000 series. They didn't fix it with the 6000 series. I really doubt they'll fix it with the 7000 series.

I guess it's back to 680 even though you could roast a marsh-mellow over four of them running simultaneously. actually; what about this version of the 7970? http://youtu.be/_UIOVDbPvvY From what I get at it's supposed to be a cool running-card.
The 680 runs cooler than the 7970. Can you make any decent argument towards you actually needing four-way SLI?
Okay. I guess it's back to 680 even though you could roast a marsh-mellow over four of them running simultaneously.
Oh my god why am I having to repeat myself. You can't do 4 way SLI with the 680, it can only do 3 way.
Oh my god why am I having to repeat myself.
Deep down you know why, but you still have hope that the posts you've made already aren't in vain.
If really want a Ivy Bridge, you can get on of the Z77 boards. Also, the Ivy Chips are coming out this month.
Oh my god why am I having to repeat myself. You can't do 4 way SLI with the 680, it can only do 3 way.
lulululul I got it, I just continue forgetting. Anyway, I think your right. I read somewhere that games need to be coded to make use of quad/triple sli/crossfire/quadfire/triplefire so some games might not use the 3/4th cards and you wont see any performance boost. I guess I can get 2-way SLI or Crossfire And according to my friends and other youtube leet grafix reviewers this version of the 7970 runs cooler than the 680 (http://youtu.be/_UIOVDbPvvY)
Just in general interest: How old are you and how can you afford spending that much on pc hardware to impress your friend?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jv5XE9GJrA&feature=related This guy spent 5400 on his PC. See, this is something he wants do, as a job, a career. It's overkill, but that's what he wants to do. He's even started a little company from the sounds of it. However, if this a hobby for you, then I would split that in half.
