only rebranded 9 series card was the 9800 GT, and it wasn't even a real rebrand, it had a smaller die

rebranding isn't really an issue at all, honestly. The performance cards are all that really matter.

For crying out loud, they haven't even officially renamed the cards yet and you guys are freaking out about it. The title is misleading, did any of you even click on the link and read it? All they are doing is exploring naming options and they have 2 options they can choose. They can either not rename and make Barts Pro/XT a 67xx card and Cayman 68xx, or they can rename Juniper to 67xx and bump Barts to 68xx, and then Cayman will be 69xx.

Personally, I think they should not rename, but if they were to do so, it would be completely reasonable as nothing could fill for the 67xx if Barts is 68xx, unless they either rename Juniper, or bring up a low end range 65xx, which might work. Or, they could just not do anything, and make Barts a 67xx.
