Alright, you may want to know that this is pretty old news, and that it isn't a official concept.
Following the sources on this I came to this site, and I think the text "HTC HD3 by NAK ... My concept about the HTC HD3 ..." confirms that we are looking at a fake.
I cannot decide if I should rate box or late on OP...
Well I did mention that it was leaked info, and not official, so there was a possibility of it being fake.
And I don't see any other thread of this on facepunch.
But seriously, I am sad..
Hopefully the actual HD3 might be something as nice as this.
I'm sad that this is most likely a fake. Oh well. The HD2 is a really nice piece of hardware, so I don't see why the HD3 would be less-so. I guess we'll see in the coming months what it winds up being.
- Of course it sports a multi-touch screen.
Fake or not; can't this not happen because multitouch is patented by Apple?
Fake or not; can't this not happen because multitouch is patented by Apple?
Companies have been using multi touch for ages for cellular devices and laptop touch pads n stuff. It's just that apple makes money off of it.

I can bring good news too!
A minimum of 4 simultaneous touch points is required for Windows Phone 7. There is also several phones on the market which support multitouch, mostly Android phones.
For the HD3, I would guess that it will be quite similar to the HD2, maybe a little more RAM, different button set (to match the WP7 requirements) and 4G. As far as I know, 1Ghz CPU (i.e. Snapdragon) is also a requirement for WP7, aswell as a minimum of 512MB RAM and 8GB flash.
However, I'm not certain of these specs (I don't think anyone are), but Microsoft doesn't want to ruin this platform with alot of phones which performs badly.

That's some high specs for a mobile OS, it uses more power than Windows XP, and that OS is only 9 years old.

Only?
My hd2 has multi touch. Its not apple specific. But even if these particular specs are faked you know that theres going to be a phone that has them within the next year or so.
This looks like an incredible phone.
I really wish they went with Android for this though. WinMo7 looks nice, but I know it's still limited when compared against the other mobile operating systems.
Well why'd you buy a Hero then? There were already other high-end phones out with Android, the Hero isn't even close to being one of them.
[editline]07:35AM[/editline]
Also, in my opinion this is still a piece of shit because it runs Windows Phone 7 and has no QWERTY keyboard.
When I bought the Hero it was top end for phones in Scotland/Britain. Over here, the Hero only came out on major networks a few months ago.

IMO, the Hero is still a decent budget smartphone. Isn't the snappiest phone, but it gets the job done. And Android 2.1 is way better than 1.5.
*uses Droid Eris (same as Hero, but on Verizon) to type this post*

I'm still on cupcake. I think the forums are extremely inconvenient to post on. I gotta wait till Q3 before Motorola pushes 2.1 out to me, those assholes.
Only?
Yes only, it's not even a decade old yet.

Couldn't you have gotten a better phone without a contract?
Bad camera.
[editline]02:54PM[/editline]
Got the X10, I was gonna get the HD2 but was wise not to cause now I have the 4", 1GHz processor AND great camera.
Yes only, it's not even a decade old yet.
For the rate technology is progressing, 10 years is a lot of time.

XP works, and does it fucking great.
Couldn't you have gotten a better phone without a contract?
Well then it would have been way more expensive.
I mean I have enough money, but I don't want to go spending £400 every time HTC release a new phone (which is like twice a month).
Is there anyway to get 2.1 on my hero? I'm stuck on 1.5 which isn't great.
XP works, and does it fucking great.
Doesn't play just cause 2.
That's some high specs for a mobile OS, it uses more power than Windows XP, and that OS is only 9 years old.
No, it does not, people is always failing on understanding that those specs are meant to give enough room for developers. The OS itself isn't anywhere near using all of those resources, it would work with 64MB of RAM, even if the min specs is 512MB of RAM. The high RAM specs is probably to give some room for multitasking.
Yes, it seems to be true, the platform multitasks, just automatically. So it wont terminate apps until the system resources are needed.
btw, Reports have come that the HD3 will most likely have the updated 1.3Ghz Snapdragon, which is 30% faster and 30% mor efficient than the current 1Ghz Snapdragon.
Funfact: The 1.5Ghz DualCore Snapdragon have better Graphics performance that all Generation 6 consoles and the Wii.
And it's camera doesn't record in 720p, and the output for HDMI is only at 720p, not 1080p.
Wrong and wrong.
[editline]03:14PM[/editline]
This probably isn't going to be released on Sprint.
I really, really hope I can buy the Evo for <$200 with my upgrade reward.
Bad camera.

I'm tired of saying this:
Phones are NOT FOR TAKING GOOD PICTURES.
Too bad it's a fake.
I've been hearing about this on Windows Weekly, apparently it can double as a WIFI router too.
1280x800 is a little insane for a phone, I find my 1024x600 on my 8.9" netbook screen perfect, though 1280x800 on a 4.3" screen... Ehhh, it could look very nice though the fonts are going to need to be cranked.
Wrong and wrong.
[editline]03:14PM[/editline]

Output pictures, slides and videos in HD quality (720p) via HDMI cable (sold separately)
Was wrong about the camera, but it does only output at 720 and not 1080.
[editline]04:39AM[/editline]
I really wanna see what the actual HD3 turns out to be like.
