AM3+ may or may not be compatible with your motherboard, it's not sure at all, and certainly very vague reason to go for something with much less performance and overclockability.
One of the reasons I picked AMD was also the fact I actually have a chance of upgrading to Bulldozer when it comes out, whereas Intel seem to fart out another socket every week. If I bought a sandybridge, that motherboard has no upgradability.
AFAIK AM3 is only getting AM3+ comparability on certain motherboards than manufacturers release BIOS updates for
and when did you discover the ability to travel through time to find out 1155 is already dead? especially as intel already have plans for a second wave of 1155 in the second half of this year (ivy bridge)
Get out, AMD Fanboy.
congrats you made yourself content in the CIPWTTKT thread
that takes skill
blatantly disregarding the very good advice of others even though it was best for you
not taking the advice of others and going to sandy bridge (i made this fuckup when i got a bit too impatient, it's funny watching pcs of the same budget leave mine in the dust but kind of sad)
holy shit dude
>AMD Fanboy
My first AMD product ever is this, I know Intel are better.
I asked for advice, I got it, I made an informed decision as it was my decision to make, why y'all so butthurt I didn't buy an I5?

Well, let's just say you didn't make an informed descision. It was rather dumb, to be honest.
You told(informed) me that Sandybridge is better. I acknowledged that fact.
Ever bought something because of personal preference? Well you shouldn't have because apparently personal preference is irrelevant.
You told me the alternatives, I accepted them and chose to go AMD because I want to.
Well, then that's not a descision based on fact, and neither logic. In the tech world, there's only facts, not feelings, and the things that counts are performance, quality and price. The only reason to buy a certain part other than that, is fanboyism, and you said you weren't a fanboy, so why did you buy it?
He made a bad decision because he didn't want to be wrong, and now he's trying to rationalize it.
Why did you even make this thread?
Too late now, hope it's not as bad as we told you it was...

AMD Phenom II X6's aren't bad, they're just not that good.
I meant relatively bad
sorry for the poor word choice, i wasn't quite sure how to phrase it
Although I respect your decision to go AMD, it was not the best decision obviously. Going for something out of personal preference is part of the definition of fanboyism, as there were better choices available.

I just feel frustrated that you decided to opt for the 6-core, because I seriously can't think of a valid reason as to why you would pick the 1090T over the 2500K, especially for gaming.

Because it isn't wrong. You're simply playing derphead right now.

And I'll just link you to a post where I recommended an AMD CPU.

You recommended a AMD CPU to somebody, that is relevant to my quoted post... how?

You were saying we were all a bunch of Intel fanboys

Read post over mine.
It's not to late to cancel the buy, and go for something better for the same price.. yet!
I've got it all set up now and it's better than I could have ever wished for, it's great for when I'm running fraps or another form of recorder there is no framerate drop, which is awesome.
Too bad my boot times are disgusting due to my ancient hard drive.
Well, congrats.
You should still have opted for the other build, though. EFI's nice, too.
Congrats on your new PC :v: Got help of these guys about 5 months back with my build and its awesome.
Before this thread moves to the great beyond I'd like to save space and inquire: how long do you folks expect the 2500k to be as (relatively) great as it is? I see the next generation is right around the corner so I don't see anything to lose by holding off on any purchases...
Going to be aiming for a new GPU and Processer (which makes a new Mobo mandatory).. Any suggestions on which products to keep an eye on?

If it's anything like the 1st gen i5s the 2500K'll be great until the next generation releases
I hope that AMD's bulldozer will have something in the ~$200 range that matches the 2500K but to be honest I doubt it
