AM3+ may or may not be compatible with your motherboard, it's not sure at all, and certainly very vague reason to go for something with much less performance and overclockability.

You told(informed) me that Sandybridge is better. I acknowledged that fact. Ever bought something because of personal preference? Well you shouldn't have because apparently personal preference is irrelevant. You told me the alternatives, I accepted them and chose to go AMD because I want to.

Well, then that's not a descision based on fact, and neither logic. In the tech world, there's only facts, not feelings, and the things that counts are performance, quality and price. The only reason to buy a certain part other than that, is fanboyism, and you said you weren't a fanboy, so why did you buy it?

Although I respect your decision to go AMD, it was not the best decision obviously. Going for something out of personal preference is part of the definition of fanboyism, as there were better choices available.

I've got it all set up now and it's better than I could have ever wished for, it's great for when I'm running fraps or another form of recorder there is no framerate drop, which is awesome. Too bad my boot times are disgusting due to my ancient hard drive.

Before this thread moves to the great beyond I'd like to save space and inquire: how long do you folks expect the 2500k to be as (relatively) great as it is? I see the next generation is right around the corner so I don't see anything to lose by holding off on any purchases... Going to be aiming for a new GPU and Processer (which makes a new Mobo mandatory).. Any suggestions on which products to keep an eye on?
