I use Avast (paid). Aside from the DING YOUR VIRUS DATABASE HAS BEEN UPDATED thing it's maintenance free and has worked great for me so far.

MSE, Comodo and your common sense should be a great combo. Comodo isn't always necessary but I find it a nice program. And you can probably swap MSE with something like Avast or Avira.
Avira's actually pretty lightweight and great.
