old ipod earphones are the best headphones
I remember my earphones that came with my ipod, listening to music with them was like pushing needles in your ears
[editline]02:51PM[/editline]
also, getting sennheiser 212 pro on tuesday
Philips SHE9500 - 7/10 Pretty good for the price £15
Apple iPhone headphones - 6/10 Sound isn't the best, and you can hear everything around you at lower volumes, but the remote makes up for it.

overall? 10/10
confortable, awesome sounding, perfect bass, perfect positional audio... perfect.
Good lord those are sexy.
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Typhoon-Bass-Vibration-Gaming-Headset/dp/B0000WTIRY
Cost me around €25 though, these are hard for me to find locally.
Comfort: 7 (my ears get sore after a little while, but there's some padding on the upper band)
Sound quality: 10 (bass vibration for music, fuck yeah. I consider it the best thing about this set. People also seem to be able to hear me fine over the microphone)
Looks: 7
Overall: 10
Sound output begins to break (cable dislodging) after a number of months, might just be due to when I brought them everywhere and when my fucking dogs keep pulling them off of my head by landing on the cable.
I have a new one and an extra set for when those break though, they're the only headset I've truly liked.
10/10 For Sound on mine.
0/10 For Design on mine, with the simple reason, the earphones are fucking traingular and dig into my ear, it makes my ears sore, and hurt for about 12 hours max.
How good are Beatz by Dr.Dre?

And my brother has these, phenomenal is all i can say, Sennheiser did well...
Pure shit. Never getting a logitech headset again. At least not a behind head one.
Anyone have a cheap, good quality mic that only requires one or two cables and preferably has a mic attached to it?

Sennheiser HD500A
I love these headphones so much that I bought two.
Really comfortable but clearly degrades over time due to heavy use.
I'd give them about 9/10 and recommend them to everyone.

I've heard top-quality Sennheiser headphones, Bose headphones, and Beat by Dr. Dre headphones. This pair of headphones blows them all away. You don't know what high quality sounds like until you've listened to the headphones I have. And, they're only $100.
Based on people's generous ratings in this thread, I'd give them 15/10 due to the low-quality headphones here that got a 10. Comfortability I'd give a 7, because they press on my ears and cause slight pain after a while. They look fine, nothing special, 7/10.
Roccat Kave: Brilliant surround sound quality.
Poor build, on my second pair and the mic is bust already.
6/10
roccat is shit in general, can't see why anyone buys from them.
also, gamecom 377, best headphones I've ever had, 10/10

Steelseries Siberia V1 - 9.5/10. Can get slightly warm, but the sound quality more than makes up for it.

Amazing headphones, these are my second pair, my first pair being from the 1980s. My single complaint about the headphones is the exposed cabling between the two headphones, which I have known to get caught on protrusions, and which I did have to replace on my original pair. Other than this, they are superb headphones, and I will continue to buy them, both for myself, and as gifts.

The mic and sound quality are great, but its so uncomfortable (maybe its cause I have big ears) and personally they look like shit. Every time I put em on I can feel the pressure on my ears instantly, a real downer.
Please note the poor attempt to hide my arm :3
I'm getting this sexy bastard soon enough.

9/10 amazing, light weight, comfortable, a bit lacking in bass.
Steelseries Icemat Siberia Full-Size Headset with external microphone

The external microphones' quality is quite decent. I really like it that you don't have it on the headphones like a normal headset but you can actually just clip this microphone onto anything you are sitting infront of.
[img_thumb]http://lib.store.yahoo.net/lib/directron/51002ss03.jpg[/img_thumb]
For example you can place it on the side of your monitor using one of the paste clippers. It works like an external board you can paste right onto the surface of the object.

Beware of the weird wire and an annoying highpitch sound when the microphone is on.
also surround sound is odd.
You are not alone, my old headset.
I've had 2 of those headsets - both are currently held together with some duct tape. :v:
And no, I don't use them anymore.
I have some half-decent Sennheisers. Not the best, neither the worst.
Turtle Beach X-52
good sound quality, terrible build quality.
Mine are held together by masking tape.
Plantronics Audio .770
Sound quality: 10
The sound quality is absolutely amazing. Surround sound is great, you can also easily tell where enemies may be, Music is absolutely amazing, bass quality is great. Open ear enclosure design is very well done. The USB adapter is supposed to be it's own sound card, but it is terrible. Don't use it. I can't mark the quality down on a crap extra part that no one will use anyway.
Comfort: 10
The first time you put these thing on, the feeling is amazing, the comfort is beyond any other headphones I've tried. I can wear these things for hours upon hours with no pain at all, the pain does not start until around 8-9 hours of constant use. The extendable band for the head strap ensures that anyone can put these on, and instantly be comfortable in them.
Looks: 10
Some people may not like how they look, but I do. They have shiny black plastic, and have an interesting square ear enclosure. Definitely not for public use, but then again, how many people use large headphones in public compared to ear buds? A huge plus is the black shiny plastic does not act like normal shiny black plastic: fingerprints are a lot less obvious.
Durability: 9
These headphones can take any abuse, and I am pretty rough with headphones. They weigh less than 250 grams, light as a feather, and are amazingly flexible. My only gripe is that the microphone lost its rigidity after a few months, so usually only ever stays in the open position.
Overall: 10/10
I would recommend these headphones to anyone and everyone.
(Just don't use the USB adapter.)

Does anyone know of any headphones that are durable and have great sound quality without looking like a pilot?
