Also I love how people are saying "build hakintosh :downs:" when OP is getting a MacBook Pro.
Because laptops cannot run os x and work like a hackintosh :downs:
Stop being a stubborn fanboy

Why is it that whenever I come into the Apple sub-forum, I see some sort of post like this? ;/
I understand why people prefer macs over pcs. The os just feels so much smoother and well built.
You don't. You're just falling for the marketing and what Apple fanboys try to convince themselves. They try to make it look like it's the perfect machine and it's going to run extremely well with no problems in any situations whatsoever. You're pretty much getting a mediocre operating system on a terrible overpriced machine.
It's kind of like buying a pre-built, like an Alienware. It's not gonna be the ultimate gaming experience that will run every game perfectly optimized, it's just an over-priced pre-built with garbage-ware already installed on the hard drive, and with the money you buy a pre-built you could probably build yourself one of the most top of the line PCs.

So you feel you should tell people what to think? Few machines are going to run "extremely well with no problems in any situations whatsoever." Computers in general tend to work very well for the majority of things depending on its spec and what you throw at it, but that doesn't mean you will have absolutely no problems, too many factors in all of it. Nothing is perfect in computers and if you delude yourself to thinking this you will only be set up for disappointment. Having the latest and greatest in hardware might significantly reduce your problems but then you must consider the software that can cause fault or frustration.
I know my MacBook Pro isn't perfect and I don't tell people it is. It froze on me twice one week and I lost all the tabs I had opened when I was researching universities which is quite stressful. Bar that and the occasional hang when iPhoto and Lightroom have a bunch of RAWs processing its very smooth in use. Occasionally I'll boot into Windows and appreciate how it handles Windows (honestly I do) but when I go back into OSX I just find it more enjoyable overall. Specifically the multi-touch trackpad and browsing get high marks for me since I'm use to tiny trackpads that don't work so well on Windows computers. I only need a mouse when I'm gaming.

why the fuck are you in the apple section if you're gonna say shit like that
I think this is an "epiphany troll", but I'll respond anyway. A desktop hackintosh is feasible. A laptop? Fuggedaboutit. If you want an OS X desktop go hackintosh (they run that well), OS X laptop - go Mac. If you like the look of the hardware a lot, then get an iMac. Fuck what people say about the cheaper solution. Economic efficiency doesn't make everyone happy.
From an archictectural point of view there's no diffrence between a desktop and a laptop, you just have to pick the right one.
Not that I am against this guy getting a Mac, if he wants one then he should get one. His money.
How many of them with Core i CPU's work? I just think the desktop would be better, since it's the path of least resistance. There's a lot of quality community support for that route.
Why does everyone instantly go "HACKINTOSH HACKINTOSH HACKINTOSH OMG" as soon as someone mentions getting a Mac? Not that I have anything against Hackintoshes, I think the idea is pretty cool, but some people want to spend the money and have it "just work" as the advertising campaigns are constantly going on about.
It seriously reminds me of the quote in this video at 1:15.

We're in a community where people like to build PC's themselves. It's no surprise they want to build Macs themselves too.
Got myself a 15" MacBook Pro with i7 for 2200 usd.
Fucking amazing. Some might say it's a waste of money, but hey, I got money to waste, so why not?
Runs photoshop and maya blazingly fast, is light and feels nice. A great portable device for both work and browsing.
If it was a stationary machine, yes I'd build it, but for a notebook this is just great.

I completely agree.
Personally, I would rather pay the extra and have something that works straight out of the box and the only setting up required is plugging in the accessories, instead of having to waste time building and configuring something to do the same thing.
In saying that, if you have a tight budget, hackintosh... but if you can afford to get an actrual Mac, you would be daft not to.
just sayin.
