Someone gave me the most disgusting thing yesterday. An ASUS board from the 1.5 ghz Willamette. With RAMBUS. I've never felt more compelled to throw a board out. That's why I got the sexiest video card. [editline]5th November 2016[/editline] [T]https://www.ekwb.com/wp-content/uploads/images/EK-FC-R9-290X-Lightning_1200.jpg[/t]
Why does it have the emblem for fire on it?
Why does it have the emblem for fire on it?
It doubles as a space heater.
And just when you think P4 Willamette packages can't get any uglier [t]http://i.imgur.com/yrKM2T4.png[/t]
Why does it have the emblem for fire on it?
Because it has 22 power input pins. I think the highest it's been clocked for card power draw is a bit north of 500w.
Everything about that generation was such a fucking hack. Like, you'll see blindly supporting old shit but this.... No, this is different. Take it behind the barn, shoot it and burn it in the incinerator.

COD is dead, Battlefield is the new king.
They are basically the same now any way. Battlefield hasn't been good since BC2.
I must be the only person who thought the bad company games were pretty shit.
when you had nothing like it, BC2 was decent. But looking back it got so much wrong. For me: BF4>BF3>BF1>BF2>BF2:SF>BF:BC2

The only battlefield game I played so far is Battlefield 3 and only because it was free.
My first BF game was bc2. Loved that game.
I still play 4 on and off. 3 was my first game in the series and I had it first on xbox and then PC once I built my computer. I've never played BC2 or anything before 3 so I can't comment on them, but I really enjoy multiplayer on BF4 much more than anything in the COD series. More team-oriented and in-depth.

For me: BF4>BF3>BF1>BF2>BF2:SF>BF:BC2

I must be the only person who thought the bad company games were pretty shit.
As a freak who plays Battlefield games exclusively singleplayer... BF:BC2 was great. The levels were good - not open enough to feel like Battlefield (F:FOW is the only game to achieve Battlefield feel in a campaign, and then only occasionally), but not nearly as scripted as Call of Duty. I thought the writing was particularly good, since it was so blatantly a spoof of modern-warfare game stories. And then BF3 came out, used the exact same plot, down to using the same model for the McGuffin (now a nuke instead of an EMP), and tried to play it completely straight. No squad banter about which Predator movie was better, or the Dallas Cowboys. No humor, no parody, just... a generic America-Fuck-Yeah story. BF2 was OK. Vanilla had way too small maps, and not enough vehicles. Mods fix that right up, though. No campaign but the bots are competent and it takes a ton of skill to get good at. I can't judge the gameplay between it and the later singleplayer modes, it's way too different. BF4 looked like more of BF3 so I didn't bother. I might grab BF1 if the singleplayer holds up better, which some are saying it does.
Try extremely hard to condense the really nerdy shit into different rooms (lmao. who can afford a house?) and leave common areas (at least upstairs) with a level of (good) taste.
I just keep it to actual bookshelves, not improvised stacks, and I put some effort into making it look pretty. Sure, it's dorky to have a shelf full of Magic cards, but they're all in nice, organized boxes, with a few curated cards on display. Yes there's a box set of Zelda strategy guides but they're nice hardbacks with fake leather binding and gold edges. My cables for all my computers and consoles are routed behind the desk, as much as possible. Spare parts and cables are in drawers. There's a nice bin for controllers - a felt-covered one, not just a plastic storage bin. Also, spreading it out helps. I've got half a shelf for Gamecube games, a quarter shelf for DVDs and Blu-Rays, a pair of racks on another shelf for Wii/Wii U games and CD-based PC games and software, and a half-shelf on a third bookcase for DVD-based PC games. Since there's no massive "holy shit that's a lot of ____" in one place, it seems like a lot less than it is. I should probably move some books onto other shelves, come to think of it, instead of having three shelves on a single bookcase. Even my computers are fairly spread out - if I tossed the useless shitbox in the closet, I wouldn't have a single one adjacent to another. Color coordination also helps. The black Gamecube and Wii U tablet are on a dark, near-black bookshelf, making them visually less intrusive. The silver Mac Pro blends in with the silver desk legs. Most things are grey, black or white, but there are consistent splashes of blue or brown, very little red, green or yellow. (Does anyone wish there was a show about interior design for nerds? We can be classy without giving up our geekiness.)

Like at all. Massive balance problems and maps were trash even after its life.
also, fuck amazon web services. what an awful experience

People told me I'm an idiot for buying AMD. I'm wearing a pair of regular socks, and two wool socks (handknit by my mother), whilst on top of a carpet, because my feet are freezing. I very much enjoy the heat right now, there's nobody living under me, so there's no heat coming in from there and this place was designed to work like that.
