But it's perfect for what I'll be using it for. I've got a decent tri-pod already from my old camera for any kind of still shots or stuff like that.
What was your old camera? It was probably a much lighter camera. Once you put a heavier camera on a cheap tripod, you'll start seeing it becoming a pain in the ass to use.
Well looks like my Xperia Z2 is over, must've knocked it down in my sleep because I found it lying on the ground with a crack in the screen. Apparently these phones' touch functions give up immediately upon the first crack? Is there anything I can do or should I just look at a new phone or some shit? also i was going to my first day of work today but without a phone i can't really book a bus, or get in touch with the people I need so fuck me
My Z3C's touchscreen stopped working from a single crack too (well, everything above the crack which in my case was like 4/5 of the screen), apparently the Xperia line just has bare digitizers with no glass protection? [editline]8th November 2016[/editline] Look into a replacement LCD assembly if you don't want to just buy a new phone, I paid $30 for mine off ebay, it wasn't too difficult to install and works flawlessly now
I had an iPhone 5s that had all of the glass from the top edge of the digitizer to the top of the phone just GONE. Worked fine :v:
So is the 70D still worth spending the money on or should I just man-up for an 80D? It's my first DSLR technically.
First decide if you're getting a camera primarily for video or photography. If anything video I'd immediately look past Canon.
First decide if you're getting a camera primarily for video or photography. If anything video I'd immediately look past Canon.
Getting it for both to be fair. And really? Cause it seems like A LOT of the YouTube guys use a 70D or 80D.
Getting it for both to be fair. And really? Cause it seems like A LOT of the YouTube guys use a 70D or 80D.
Because I can guarantee they had a 7D or 60D for a while and already had a few thousand in gear. Canon is getting better at video, but they're still so far behind even cheap cameras.
Getting it for both to be fair. And really? Cause it seems like A LOT of the YouTube guys use a 70D or 80D.
If you are doing more things focused towards video, something like a Panasonic GH3 or GH4, Sony a6300 outperforms Canon DSLRs in terms of overall video quality. Canon was wildly popular in the early days of DSLR video (so around 2009) because of what came out of it at the time. Nowadays, they are really lacking behind on features and quality compared to other cameras out there for the same, if not lower price point. I still shoot Canon because I still have and use a 60D, it works for what I need it for. It still does well for photos and videos. It could be better but it's close enough. The Canon C-series cameras are decent for what they are but overpriced where the Sony equivalents are typically better overall. Canon has the brand loyalty going for them and they are still banking on that. There will be plenty of pro photographers and videographers sticking to one specific brand for a long time, buying all of the new stuff when it comes out. Like it's always good to use other gear when you can. It lets you see what you like out of each camera, and as expected, each camera has their ups and downs. 2 weeks ago, I was at a shoot and we were using an ARRI Mini. Later this week, I'll be using Sony FS5s to film an interview. In 2 weeks, I'll be using the C100 mark 2 for a music video.

The actual SLR functionality is great for pro work or sports, but vast majority of the time it's not as advantageous for its downsides.
I mean I'm wanting to get into producing content for YouTube with whatever I get and I'm also looking at getting serious with my photography and possibly trying to make money off of that. I figured the Canon would be the best middle-ground to settle on.
I mean I'm wanting to get into producing content for YouTube with whatever I get and I'm also looking at getting serious with my photography and possibly trying to make money off of that. I figured the Canon would be the best middle-ground to settle on.
Canon is a good middle ground, but so is the Nikon since in recent years, Nikon DSLR video got a lot better. A GH4 is nice and all but the body alone costs $1500USD. If you don't really need the 4K video, you're just starting off, than a 70D is a good "middle ground" to start with. There is really no perfect answer for cameras. It's like everything else, it just varies which is what makes it so damn annoying.
Don't forget Sony. All I'm saying is, 5 years ago the go-to answer would be "Canon OF COURSE" but now they only just now caught up to some micro 4/3's options from a few years ago. They aren't the Go-To like they use to. Don't think you have to go Canon. Disclaimer, I own like $6000 in Canon gear.
The Canon is also a lot more tempting as I can just steal lenses from my mom :v: But yeah I've got basically until February to decide. We're on track to get a large bonus at work around then depending on final quarter profits and if that works out I'll have enough cash to drop on one. Alternatively, I thought about the D5500 to start off since it's relatively cheap in terms of camera prices.
Which i7 would it have? There is dual core and quad core versions. If you plan on doing any more video editing, I'd recommend getting a quad-core CPU.
Sorry, it turns out both of them are 768p. Guess I am stuck with that if I want a good deal. Anyhow, one has a 6600U (dual core), and the other has a 6700HQ (quad core). The dual core has better battery life and the laptop itself is also lighter though, so maybe I am better off with that since I care more about that. I do the more resource intensive tasks on my main desktop PC anyways. Maker of the laptop is Fujitsu by the way, although it probably means nothing outside of Japan. Before I go through with this purchase, could I get some recommendations for laptops from other makers with an i7 (which CPU exactly does not really matter), at least 8GB RAM, a 15.6 inch display, and maybe an internal DVD drive? SSD would also be nice but I can replace a HDD afterwards.
I haven't been keeping up with the camera scene too much lately, but I'm also a huge Canon fan. Their premium line of products are absolutely gorgeous, and they're definitely worth considering as an investment if you know you'll be using them a lot. I'm currently using a 5D Mk III with quite a few L lenses

It was because all of my high school friends also had Canon DSLRs so I was pretty knowledgeable with them. Plus, I would be able to use their lenses. I ended up occasionally using their 24-105L or 50/1.4. We did video stuff and our video looked the same since we had the camera maker. Also that Canon skin tones tho. If you can use the lenses from someone else (or many others in my case) without too much of a hassle, then I'd say go with Canon. I haven't bought any lenses since the ones that came with my kit (18-200, 50/1.8) but I've tried plenty. The glass really helps but it can only help up to a certain point where you just wish the video was less shit in todays standards.
So I began getting the in-browser notifications on HTTP sites as of today. About a week in and we hit 1.4TB.

I've asked for AAAA batteries in several stores but almost nobody seems to know them by that name.
Looked into the assembly kit and it'll take like a month to get delivered? I do want to save money but I need the damn thing like yesterday [editline]8th November 2016[/editline] Also which ones are actually good? Feels like a gamble with whichever I look at, for example this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/For-Sony-Xperia-Z2-D6502-D6503-D6543-Touch-Screen-Glass-Digitizer-Replacement-T/252084639784?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D2%26asc%3D39823%26meid%3D38109329614b4887bf2e6a4cef964204%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D252394050224
Windows volume mixer is fucking weird. If it's at 25% global volume and an application is also at 25% it's quieter than if the global is set to 100% and the application is set to 25%.
ok so i've been trying to print out some labels for like an hour and then i found out that this: had magically unticked itself since last time i printed something i mean holy shit dude i am about to start frothing at the mouth and ruin a futon over here [editline]9th November 2016[/editline] and now it's out of ink hooray
hey guys been thinking about getting a new cpu cooler you think this will work good? ty for response bai.

honestly it's usually just as economic to just sell the phone with a broken screen and then buy a new (used) one as it is to fix the screen yourself you're a lot less likely to run into issues down the line as a result of repairs and it's a lot of saved time, and the monetary savings aren't too significant as is

The Z2 is a nightmare to work on. It really depends on the phone if that's worth it. My old Lumia 1020 was a dream to work on for example. (Look up a disassembly, you'll see what I mean)

The OP3 is a really nice cheaper phone, as is the 6p on a deal.

Like if an application is at 50% and global is at 50% then that should be the same as if the application is at 25% and the global is at 100%. I'll have to see if it actually does that now [editline]8th November 2016[/editline] No wait what the fuck you're right. It's weird.

Others are stacked rectangular "button cell" batteries. Duracell 9volts are six AAAA's in a fancy packaging last time I checked (around 2 years ago) [editline]8th November 2016[/editline] Supposedly Energizers too, but bear in mind I'm talking about Alkaline batteries.
Lmao tons of AV's are flagging nvidia's new telemetry and vulkan.
I decided to plug in a really old 19-inch 4:3 LCD from like 10 years ago as my third display on my desk. I was barely able to fit it on my desk but it seems to work. It's a glossy display and it's semi-annoying with the hard reflections off it, compared to my 2 other matte displays. It seems to be useful for documents and chat clients because the chat text is a bit larger since it's a 1024p panel. Seems useful enough, especially if the display was collecting dust for the past year. Now to get another DisplayPort to HDMI adapter later next week so I don't have an HDMI plugged into the laptop and everything can be run off the dock. I was having these connection issues with one DisplayPort to HDMI adapter where after waking the computer from sleep, it starts to flicker the screen every 5 seconds or so. I have no idea why but it seems like unplugging the adapter from the dock, then replugging it in fixes it. The same happens if I use the other DisplayPort on the dock. I'll just get another one, mix and match the adapters and HDMI cables and worse case, get a 3rd one to replace the buggy one. I do wish my displays had DisplayPort inputs but oh well. Whenever I upgrade to lets say a 1440p display, it will probably have DisplayPort. I guess HP figured that pro users don't use HDMI so they made their Thunderbolt 3 dock only have 2 DisplayPort and 1 VGA. But yeah, if I was to get another 24 inch 1080p monitor, I'd want to get one with an adjustable height (so I don't have to make another one of those wooden monitor stands) and a bigger desk because I have no idea how I managed to put the 19-inch one. Right under the G13 game board is the drawers since this is originally a study desk, not a computer desk. [t]http://i.imgur.com/yLLMP7k.jpg[/t] Yes, the very right side monitor's wooden monitor stand is literally off the desk. I shifted the monitor more to the right so the stand isn't sticking out as much.
