Microcenter would be extremely dangerous and fun for me.
A YouTube who had to rebuild his PC and get returns/replacement parts bought a fuck load of open boxed discounted things for literal pennies.
How the heck does Microcenter make cash off of it?
That's how I built my first PC after getting some free parts from friends.
Friend game me some old Core 2 Duo, mobo, 250gb hard drive, and 4gb of ram.
Bought an open box Antec 300, 550watt BFG power supply, and an open box 1GB ATI HD 4670.
[editline]14th November 2016[/editline]
I think the only new parts I bought were a case fan and new cooler since the old one was basically a jet engine.

Not the best analogy. The only similarities Visual Studio Code and Atom have are that they both run on Electron.
Yeah Microcenter is way too dangerous for me.
Went in a month ago to get a wireless mouse and came out with two raspberry pi's, a 3-pack of canned air, an hdmi cable, and a pack of starburst.
First time I went here I walked out with an AMD processor, board, SSD, and a raspberry pi zero. All I went in for was a keyboard. I didn't even get one.

First time I walked into a Microcenter I walked out with absolutely nothing, myself. Went there to pick up some stuff for my girlfriend, there was a ton I could have gotten but I think I'm just way too skittish with spending money that I didn't. She walked out with extra though.
I want to be smart and skittish with money. Help.
I even went online today and I almost bought a Selfie Stick.
Be poor, have bills, have things you need to save for, and keep track of every bit of money you spend and income you have. That's pretty much what did it with me.
I've already succeeded at two of those things however some very recent life events make me pretty rich right now.
Then still keep track of every little bit of cash flow. Use Excel or something, it's great for this. Build a document with sheets for each month, you'll know approximately just how much you'll have and can spend even in 6 months, and if you keep it handy you can always just pull it up and check to see if you really can afford what you're looking at or if it'll screw you up in 2 weeks time on your rent, or whatever.
Yea. I think Uni will be giving me a free Office 365 sub for the study year so I'll just build it when I go to Uni.
For now what I've been doing is keeping receipts and comparing.
Summer job will boost this too.
Slightly off topic but I feel like I'm the youngin' and because I've never really done much or gotten out because of my inability to drop dead weight and I feel pretty behind on a lot of things. In saying that next year will certainly be my year.
I wonder if the Office365 I have with uni will stick around after I'm done, I know the Google email with unlimited drive is permanent.
It probably won't, I see an expiry date on my Office365 license when I log in. Which is a shame
I don't see one, where abouts is it?

I really don't want to go back to 2010.
Actually I may be wrong, I was thinking about my Onedrive, but that's a separate deal which I got. I don't have access to my desktop for the immediate future but Office was working fine for at least a few months after I graduated, and it may be working even now. I know Windows is for sure.
Just a few hours until the OP3T launch. Does anyone know if you can buy with an invoice of some kind? Don't have money today but tomorrow but I still want to order it
yeah see if there was one of those around here I'd be broke
I stay away from microcenter and music gear stores by living more than 30 minutes away from them :v:
well shit, my 4K TV doesn't support anything besides 4:2:0 subsampling if I want 4K at 50/60Hz...

When your sound card looks like someone accidentally put it through a table saw
Looks like something Apple would make.

Nah, that adheres to a standard.
Apple would make the connector triangular and call it revolutionary, then dump it and call it courageous.

I like how for years everyone talked about NuBus like it was an Apple thing, but in reality TI was licensing it to Apple. :v:
A more famous thing Apple did was when everyone else was making SCSI terminators with grey plastic Apple sold one of their machines with a black terminator and said it was needed to get the maximum performance out of the bus.

In reality it's just a regulator terminator but to this day you find people in the Macintosh IIfx circlejerk who have SCSI issues and immediately blame it on them not owning a black terminator.

It does take a lot of courage to shoot yourself in the foot. I know I'd chicken out.
Call it content if you'd want but I have a mildly unpopular opinion now, and here's why:
I like the new Beats. I drove to Little Rock yesterday to get some clothes and check out the Apple store. They had a set of the new Beats Solo3 there with their iPod Touch display models. I tried them on and they sound freaking amazing now. I remember when they used to be bass heavy pieces of shit but now that has changed a lot. They're crisp and clear sounding and do an awesome job at canceling out any and all background noise. I'm REALLY tempted to buy them, especially for that 40 hour battery life.

I want the Powerbeats 3, they seem like the best no-compromise Bluetooth IEM right now. My Samsung Level U's are pretty decent, but the connection is susceptible to drops. At least they're comfortable and also have stellar battery life.

That's called a credit card
I wish the oneplus one had more cellular bands, the one that T-Mobile uses in the rural areas for LTE isn't compatible so I'm stuck with 2G in the middle of nowhere instead of LTE.
That's called a credit card
Besides a credit card, in Sweden we have something called Klarna which pays for you and sends you an invoice much like a credit card. I saw something about a "PayPal Invoice" or something and got my hopes up
Still, disappointed that I can't order nor receive the damn phone until 2 weeks. Not sure whether I should hold out for it or buy another phone.

Yet the Vogons crowd would jump all over that piece of junk. I mean it looks cool but for fucks sake why would you torture yourself with something besides a Sound Blaster or GUS when all you want to play are DOS games?
