Syncthing is pretty neat apart from it having to restart every time you add a sync. Or change sync settings. Or add a device. Or change what is synced to a device.

I actually prefer it this way, since it's a one-time configuration per-device for me, while I can still throw it on a first-gen rPi with barely any noticeable resource usage.

TIL that my $900 monitor that I bought last year has an input latency of 43ms. No wonder this damn thing has been impossible to use.
TIL that my $900 monitor that I bought last year has an input latency of 43ms. I still remember dropping $1200 on a U3011 because about 50 people on Overclock said "BRO THERE IS NO LATENCY" It went back. Felt like I was playing games via can and a string.
I feel like I'm slightly drunk when I'm moving the cursor on my 4k tv
Gary why [t]http://i.imgur.com/EJfAxwz.jpg[/t] And also how?

Have you guys tried to make a dent in the market writing an app program or something?
You fucked the whole page up, gary
Wait what, how?
Gary why [t]http://i.imgur.com/EJfAxwz.jpg[/t] And also how?
Oh. Well.. umm... have a Canadian "I'm sorry." I'll go convert that quote to
or something.

If anyone wants 200GB on their onedrive. Bought a 8TB Backup Plus Hub from bestbuy for 170. Missed their 150 deal but still fucking cheap. Disabled my adblock because a site asked me to and the shear amount of ads crashes my browser while I was in the middle of homework.
I'm thinking of switching back to ABP from UBO It's so much more of a pain in the ass to block things, especially undoing it afterwards, plus I really don't notice any performance gains [editline]29th November 2016[/editline] Oh and occasionally it just likes to shit out and blacklist entire websites for no reason (generally news sites)
Disabled my adblock because a site asked me to and the shear amount of ads crashes my browser while I was in the middle of homework.
In my experience so far, when a site asks you to "please disable ads so we don't go bankrupt", it usually means that 90% of the screen space will be ads only. I try to keep my adblock off on most website but ever since I got some nasty malware I'm very cautious which site is in my white list. I miss the good old days of normal banner ads

I wonder if I'll have to get that thermal pad kit for my 1070. Guess I'll find out tomorrow.
doing my write test on the new 8TB drive, forgot how fucking hot externals got. Like 15% in and it's at 54C.
Here's a v42 title: 3dfx died for our sins
I remember watching a video from Linus saying that the 8TB drives have bad write speeds?
I still believe that more drives in RAID beats a small number of high capacity disks.
I still believe that more drives in RAID beats a small number of high capacity disks.
Unless you're out of SATA ports. Like I am. I had to unplug my DVD drive to fit more hard drives.
Do you not have any spare slots for a RAID controller?
Who uses optical media anymore?
Who uses optical media anymore?
I do. A lot :(
Who uses optical media anymore?
I'm a person too, you know. ;_;
you're not a people
I'm going to use optical media later tonight.. because the SSD arrived for the Thinkpad and I'm going to get rid of the slow ass hard drive and install an SSD, install Windows 7 Pro off a CD because Windows 10 was a bitch and a half to working. Installing the drivers and getting the touch screen among other things on the x201s was also annoying so maybe Windows 7 will give me better luck. It's probably for the better anyways.
Do you not have any spare slots for a RAID controller?
Gets expensive really fast. A card that does more than 2 ports is $169, can't do RAID 1 because I need the space, can't do RAID 0 because I don't want it to be twice as likely to fail, thus resulting in RAID 10 because 5/6 die on rebuild. Going with the cheapest 4 TB drives (which are external and would need shucking and are probably IEHDDs) puts us at 4 x $149 to get to 8 TB. Total of $765 for 8 TB, compared to $332 for my current 8 TB drive. Sure it's faster than my drive by a shit load but it's bulk media storage, even a 5400 RPM drive is far in excess of the read speeds needed for even the highest bitrate content I have. [editline]29th November 2016[/editline] I need optical media because if I want to play a modern game it's either that or spend a week downloading it.
