So I picked up a free Poweredge 2900 for fun. Might make it a little project of mine to hunt around for great deals to get it in a good state. Current only has 2gb RAM, a single dual core proc, and a PERC 4e/dc which is pretty useless. Going to try and find at least 8gb RAM, a pair of low wattage quads, and probably grab a PERC H200 or some other midrange card and hunt around for factory refurbished WD RE's. Good news is it has all 8 drive caddies, but I'm going to have rip out the backplane most likely.

You can, you just might not get very far.
Pulled out my Superlux HD668b's for the first time since i moved 2 years ago. I forgot how good these headphones can be.
What is this arbitrary shit?
Youtube is now limiting me to 360p because I don't meet their recommended requirements. YOu're an HTML5/Flash media service. You shouldn't need to fucking care what my system specs are besides I can play your shit.
Fuck you I was playing 720p fine yesterday. What is this bullshit arbitrary "X is TOO OLD TO OBVIOUSLY HANDLE THIS LOL".
Now maybe this isn't a problem with private trackers, never used one. But I really like listening to movie commentaries on movies I like as well as other bonus features. Good luck finding those on public ones. Your lucky to find one that isn't YIFY.
Most Remux rips have all audio channels included in the file, as well as subtitles, and they include chapter breaks as well. You can pick whatever you want.
Yeah, I could never justify that. Plus the disk space. Especially when the alternative is going to a used movie/game shop and pay $6 for one and be back home to watch it in 15 minutes. :v:
A remux is substantially smaller than the raw bluray dump. There's also lossy rips that generally skirt in at 50-70% of the size of the remux. A lot of that depends on the type of content though. For a proper bluray rip of a 2 hour movie, you generally need at least 10GB.

How many times do you need people telling you newer technologies are dropping XP support because the OS itself is the source of endless compatibility nightmare?
Youtube's HTML5 mode simply cannot work on XP with the latest firefox versions because the OS cannot provide the APIs it fundamentally needs to decode MP4s. That's why you're being forced to watch lower resolutions instead, since the only other supported format in HTML5 mode is the lower resolution webms. This is a phenomenal that has been know since last year.
You can keep trying to needlessly work around the problems by using that plugin which forces youtube to use flash, but guess what's going to happen when Flash is completely abolished in the near future?
Sooner or later you're going to need to stop using that 15 year old abandonware OS when workarounds runs out. FYI, the sooner you do it, the sooner you'll stop having to complain about these kind of compatibility issues and wasting your time trying to work around them.

I can bring it up to 65Hz with Nvidia's custom resolution thing but that's about it.
I've overclocked my GL2430H to 66 Hz and my ancient FP937S (with 18 bit colour) to 77 Hz.
I keep forgetting to slap rhythm games onto the 77 Hz because I'm an idiot.
I overclocked my Qnix from 60hz to 110!
I broke Awfully Dark :v: https://www.dropbox.com/s/l6dh634fuj2b2kq/Screenshot%202016-11-30%2001.11.29.png
Even the post box is messed up.

dd'ing my laptop's SSD's contents to a hard drive over the network.
Going to temporarily remove it from the laptop and throw it on my desktop to see how some games behave with an SSD.
I haven't gotten my tax returns yet, wondering if they're just late on it, or if I'm not going to get it until next week.

Nginx is too fucking good. Needed to thumbnail some images in C#. Couldn't use anything in System.Drawing because dotnet core. Someone is working on a dotnet core image library, doesn't support formats used in some of the images and crashes the server so that's out. Tried to get imageflow to work but as with a lot of things shit just doesn't work if you aren't on Ubuntu.
Naturally Nginx has an image scaling module and it works flawlessly after spending 5 minutes recompiling it and adding a couple of lines to a config. Why can't everything be like Nginx?

Because they're too used to something else (Apache for example)
I can't believe i did this, i fucking sold the PS3
all it took was from mid july to today

I severly regret selling that server I got. Even though I got $1200 for it, I only made like 450 on it.
It had 16 drive bays, though 2.5.

How did you even do that? I have like 2 of these monitors and I want to try it out now.

On most CRTs you just set a custom refresh rate in the nvidia/AMD control panel and off you go. Do note that you probably won't be able to get max resolution at max refresh.
Well just bought a tiny little TV with inbuilt Google Cast for the bedroom, god damn is it nice using your phone as a remote.
And since I am using my Note 4 I can control volume and all of that jazz too!
I did something stupid.

Don't feel too bad, I bought the CoD:AW deluxe for the COD4 Remaster and haven't touched AW yet. (and it's SEVENTY-FIVE GIGS)
Wasn't really worth it either. Many missing maps, they fucked with the balance and the MP is P2P rather than dedicated, so I get shot around corners like it's BF4 all over again.

It's not up to Youtube to determine that. I'd be more understanding if it was HTML5 or even flash telling me this.
Actually, Firefox notified me of this last week that the XP support had ended and my browser will no longer be receiving updates. That I can at least understand but when it's a website restricting access not because of your version of flash or the age of your browser but what OS you run, that is just queue jumping and poking at shit you have no damn reason to be looking at anyways.
Also, webm is for open-source window lickers who still believe Linux has a place outside of the lab it should of remained in. Raping a CPU to skirt licensing makes you look like a cheapskate and a monkey who blows at programming.

is this an actual post i'm reading

the website is restricting access because the APIs it needs to function literally don't exist on xp
what do you want them to do magically make APIs

Alternately:

except technically the version of html5 supports it
it's just that the OS doesn't have the fucking APIs to handle it
so those errors are wrong

You already know my stance on webm and linux. How is this at all a shock?
