IPv6 is a bit silly. I just reserved a /48 block and I'm sitting here wondering how the fuck anyone can use 1.2 septillion addresses.
What am I missing?

/48's are meant for small ISPs, carriers, etc, they're meant to be there to give out /64's to customers. You probably should have just stuck with a /64.
Still silly cheap. Is there a catch?
Too early to tell. Speedtest puts it at 900 mbps down 375 mbps up. AFAIK next cheapest is Kimsufi if you manage to get insanely lucky and catch it in the couple of minutes it's up for and that's on a 100mbps line.
Server was online in 5 minutes and installed in 30 so I have no complaints so far.
Mini rant.
Fuck all ISPs who send out modems/routers with locked down firmware. Gimme stock firmware. Somedude in QQ in H&S can't set a custom VLAN tagging despite it having actual support but it's locked down by Telstra's Firmware and I don't think Technicolor will give out the stock firmware to an end user.
If it's the router I'm thinking of, there might be a way to enable a hidden root account to re-enable all the hidden shit
Anyone in the UK have Virgin Media and a Superhub 3? Because loading any page on their shitty firmware takes longer than a Dialup webpage in the 90s, I swear.

Those are the worst routers I've ever had to use.
Had to share one between an 8 student house, I think it was about a week before we put it into modem mode and bought another wireless router.

so i finally downloaded a 32bit ubuntu iso and fired it up on this 9 year old laptop
It's dead-ish because of overheating problems after it was out from the repair shop in 2013. Also it has no hard drive so i didn't do much, just check if it's really alive. Also now after it knocked out again i couldn't turn it on, i guess because of the heat.
I also tried to get out the specs of this, but it died on me.
It has a fucking 32bit Core Duo with ATI gpu
Keep trying to middle click to open tabs and end up side clicking and swapping tabs instead. Also somehow manage to middle and side click which swaps a tab and scrolls the page out.
AIMP also has started taking focus whenever it swaps song for some reason so my program specific binds are getting messed up and I have to double tap the alt+tab button to get them to work again.
I remember having the side scroll wheel clicks set up to forward and backwards which got annoying when web browsing so I decided to use it for horizontal scrolling instead. Since I got onto Mac OS, I switched them to the switch virtual window button instead (which is control+left or right).

Ain't Minecraft horribly single-threaded?
Linear actuators are the best.
So by my understanding of pictures and stuff from the Apple event, they're planning to do a (unconfirmed) wireless protocol with the chip in one of the earphones.
Well, here comes the theorists saying wireless radios give cancer again.
Anything wired needs a battery that needs being charged, fuck that shit.

Beyond battery life, I'd never get small wireless earbuds simply because you'd lose them all the time. Headphones... maybe some day, but I really, really dislike the idea of ditching the headphone jack at this point in time.
At least Apple includes a lightning to jack converter, but yeah.

jeez 1080p looks shitty, it really is a dated format (even if phone cameras can't match proper ones)
I seriously hope you know why people are dumbing this and how cameras work, native 1080p capture isn't 1:1 per pixel (4:4:4) and nor is 4k (instead it's 4:2:0), however when you scale down 4k to 1080p you then get a 1:1 1080p image where each pixel has 1:1 colour data making the image more clear producing a 4:4:4 image where each pixel has its blue-difference, red-difference chroma and luma data instead of having it shared across 3.
Basically you should know how cameras work before complaining about a resolution format, or you're just shitposting.

never heard of it
totally misleading stuff seriously, why is it even called 1080p or whatever then
should be labeled more on stuff, false advertising of not having a true image

Blame the industry that defines these formats. Its mostly done as data compression, some cameras do allow you to take 4:4:4 photos though at 1080p and they look exactly the same as downscaled 4k.

i totally do, same shit with 4k not being 4096x2160 just because of buzzwords, hd being renamed to "hd ready" and introducing "full hd", shipping laptops with 1366x768 resolution in 2016
it's a fucked up world

If you think quality wired headphones are heavy AF (which they often are), then wait until the manufacturer needs to account for a battery and supporting circuitry.

It is really stupid, but honestly chroma subsampling does make sense to a degree but pretty much all devices and technology now can handle full data images and video, if your connection can handle 4k video for example, you can handle a full 4:4:4 1080p video.
Overall its down to keeping the overall filesize down while still keeping image quality optimal, just in most cases a lot of cameras cheap out so it looks like ass.
As for resolutions, I blame marketing! because fancy words for absolute trash sells.

I'm not cheering them, just saying that not including the adapter and selling it for $30 would literally just be Tim Cook shitting down his customers' throats.
Personally I'd like a new wired standard to come along that is less prone to breaking (when using headphones on the go) than 3.5mm, though. Maybe I'm retarded, but something like the magnetic charging cables *could* *potentially* be nice.
