LGR is obviously great with retro gear as well but doesn't go into details. Just sort of mentions functionality.
I have tried a few times to go in detail on various hardware I stumble upon and believe me I got more than enough shit here to run a channel but no matter how detailed I've attempted to make the videos I'm often overshadowed by the bigger names who have way more spare time than I do to make these videos. Even my group of 90's tablets failed to make an impression on anyone. The CRT cataract surgery video alone took nearly a week to go from script to uploading. I don't think it's even seen 500 hits yet after two months. LGR didn't seem interested in a group production, neither did 8-bit guy and LMG has still not responded to my inquiries about visiting or using The Hackery as a supplier of or shooting location for parts for their shows. They've gone to FreeGeek several times and literally passed right by the store.
I feel like the only tech channels that really know their stuff... is Techmoan or 8-bit Guy. OMG, techmoan is the fucking best. LGR is obviously great with retro gear as well but doesn't go into details. Just sort of mentions functionality.
I only care about unboxing videos if it's a product I'm thinking of getting myself. Otherwise, it's just looking at how cool the packaging is like.
Yes and no. Uni is a lot better with regards to deposits and stuff, private halls often try to charge you as much as possible, especially Unite afaik, so watch out for that. In terms of internet (have to keep this roughly on topic :v:) all the uni halls are with JANET, which basically went up to 750mb/s or so at times.
Yeah i'm with Unite, took pictures of all damage and stuff when I arrived so hopefully should be covered on that front
It's hard not to make something disgusting when working with a heap of literal shit.

<a href="http://<?php echo substr($_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'], 2) ?>"> <?php echo substr($_SERVER['HTTP_HOST'], 2)?></a>
When I was working in the summer I came across this. Toradex support team really tells it how it is.
Also I couldn't help myself and bought five of those 2TB Hitachi refurb enterprise drives. 300days, 1100days, 800days, 500days, 400days. Half have less spintime than my 4TB NAS drives. 180 bucks for 10TB. One has some reallocated sectors, so I'll prob exchange that with newegg. But things look in really good condition, perform pretty well, not amazing at 7200RPM, but good transfer rates. But also run hot. Will be running intensive surface tests to try and kill them and exchange em. From there I'll spend 25 bucks on a 2yr warranty on all of them with NE. With enough redundancy and checksums and such, I'm fine with going with refurb drives.
Been having problems with memory usage on my desktop. Seems like 8GB just isn't the bee's knees anymore. Luckily, the price of DDR3 has come down a lot, since people are transitioning, and the technology has matured, and I won't be replacing my CPU+motherboard in a while. Ordered 2x8GB. Will have 2x8GB + 2x2GB, then. Kingston HyperX Fury 1866MHz, for the lifetime warranty.
all the uni halls are with JANET, which basically went up to 750mb/s or so at times.
My private accommodation only has StudentCom WiFi it seems (no ethernet jacks to be found). There is some sort of switch installed on the wall near my desk but it isn't currently plugged in, nor does it have any Ethernet or power cables plugged in. When I move in fully over the weekend I'm going to have to investigate more.
Update, they fixed it Thank fuck for that.
Also just FYI (because I wasn't aware) if and of you own the original versions of those games, you got the remasters for free

This just happened. I worry about my friend sometimes. Then he links me to a VPS provider, asking if they're good, after I've already given him several recommendations.
Got those hard drives from a week or so back in my NAS: 80TB raw in there, throw 16TB of those out for parity and then deal with the annoyance that is base 2 and base 10 and you're left with:
Here I am, just finishing up my FreeNAS build. All excited about my four 4TB drives. And you just had to go and arose me. On the bright side, my 8 bay NAS is probably a million times quieter! The refurbished 4TB HSGT drives from newegg passed the long smartctl tests just fine too! [t]http://i.imgur.com/WMcypxf.jpg[/t]

Nah, suicide linux.
Pepper;51062504']Nah, suicide linux.
He wouldn't be able to get through the install.

Planning on buying one of these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/381077493540?ssPageName=STRK:MESINDXX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1436.l2649 It's got both PSU's, it's got all sleds, and it's got the proper SAS2 backplane I want for big drives. Whenever I am done with upgrading my workstation this is what I plan on going with.
Work switched over to using OpenDNS now on everything and using it to filter stuff. Seems like nothing is blocked...
Work switched over to using OpenDNS now on everything and using it to filter stuff. Seems like nothing is blocked...
Sure your computer wasn't already using a non-standard DNS?
i just wish it was easier to get a hold of raid/sata cards over here, i'd build a massive storage server in a heartbeat
i just wish it was easier to get a hold of raid/sata cards over here, i'd build a massive storage server in a heartbeat
eBay, although you'd often need to reflash the firmware since the cards on ebay are most likely OEM RAID cards from pre-configured servers being butchered.
i just wish it was easier to get a hold of raid/sata cards over here, i'd build a massive storage server in a heartbeat
Tons of cheap LSI HBA's and raid controllers are on ebay. Like 50-80 bucks. Then just get an expander to get your 250 drives.
Can anyone tell me why the LG G5 uses 2GB+ of RAM while idle My laptop uses 300MB idle and is perfectly functional with 2GB total available this is ridiculous
Can anyone tell me why in the ungodly fuck the LG G5 uses 2GB+ of RAM while idle My laptop uses 300MB idle and is perfectly functional with 2GB total available this is ridiculous
Excessive precaching?
Can anyone tell me why the LG G5 uses 2GB+ of RAM while idle My laptop uses 300MB idle and is perfectly functional with 2GB total available this is ridiculous
Unused RAM is wasted RAM. [editline]17th September 2016[/editline] Oh and the botnet runs on Chrome
Excessive precaching?
Oh, makes sense. I didn't think of that for some reason.
So my Steam library drive just died on me, lost almost 2TB of games. What do I go for now? I've narrowed it down to these two: http://www.ebuyer.com/579048-wd-black-2tb-3-5-sata-desktop-hard-drive-wd2003fzex http://www.ebuyer.com/319641-seagate-2tb-3-5-sata-desktop-hard-drive-st2000dm001 Which would be better disregarding the price difference? Or would you go for something else?
A black is better if you want to spend the money. [editline]17th September 2016[/editline] They're different classes of drives tbh, the difference between buying like a Samsung 850 EVO or an 850 Pro.
Do not get Seagate drives. They've been nothing but unreliable in recent years
They're different classes of drives tbh, the difference between buying like a Samsung 850 EVO or an 850 Pro.
As someone looking to get an SSD soon, what is the difference between those? :v:
