I should get one of those wireless bluetooth headsets, it seems like it would be useful to use for my phone and computer since I seem to be on the phone more and more with people.
I built ffmpeg on a dual core 1.7 GHz atom once. Never again.
Pff, that's nothing. I installed Gentoo once.
On this episode of unnecessary watercooling, we're going to watercool this rare 15 year old GPU: [t]http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/773068Voodoo5k6twelftha.jpg[/t] [t]http://img15.hostingpics.net/pics/432454Voodoo5k6legendb.jpg[/t] And you think one waterblock is enough? Nope. The back is also watercooled. I'm not sure which is crazier, watercooling a Voodoo, or making a custom waterblock. I actually kind of have to respect the sheer effort going into it.

HANG IN THERE BUDDY. DONT YOU DIE ON ME I want to see if I can get this thing to reallocate literally everything. Even if half the drive is gone. Do your magic firmware
eBay, although you'd often need to reflash the firmware since the cards on ebay are most likely OEM RAID cards from pre-configured servers being butchered.

Tons of cheap LSI HBA's and raid controllers are on ebay.
uhhhh
Pretty sure the price/performance on the 1070 is better then the 1080 and the Titan X Goes for the cuda cores as well, 1070 gets 4.8 cuda cores per dollar 1080 gets 4.266 cuda cores per dollar Pascal Titan gets 3.84 cuda cores per dollar
What is this terrible font rendering on this new chrome update [editline]19th September 2016[/editline] It's the material design flag that has 6 point fonts for some reason
Is it possible that a microSD card simply runs out of write cycles after about 1.5 years? The one in my phone just started to act up, its not possible to write or delete anything on it (even though I can still open everything on it fine). It also gives an error when I try to format it in Windows.
Seems pretty early to die, my microSD has a 10 year warranty.
I got mine from France for almost the same price as in the US, you're literally not looking hard enough.
probably, yeah. but it's hard to know whether they support 2tb+ disks, information is extremely vague and opinions differ

If you're gonna pay that much for a video card you should be buying something made this decade.

I guess it's doing something because it's gone from 30,000 bad sectors to 27,000. And the slowdown from reallocated sectors seems to be going down. (not as dark spots) Will take an entirely 'nother day to finish though. Doing this out of curiosity. I already wrote this drive off as gone.
great work homebrew part deux
HDD is here, woo. Went for WD Black. Let's begin... [t]http://i.imgur.com/Jv9dMJl.png[/t] [editline]19th September 2016[/editline] Apparently I didn't select 20 of them, and I can't add them to the queue yet while it's adding the other games.
Took this picture not a long time ago to mock my friend who was shocked over his 100GB steamapps folder. [t]http://u.cubeupload.com/tratzzz/sirokuidassaelad.png[/t] [editline]19th September 2016[/editline] I sometimes feel like I have a data-hoarding problem but then I see all the brt posts about the HDD-s.
Considering how shitty Triple A devs leave all their stuff uncompressed resulting in 60GB+ games, it's really not all that surprising.
God I hate getting emails saying "I am getting an error!" and nothing else. I don't know how to solve your problem if you don't actually share the error.
On a web server.
So what, i thought he's serving some content that benefits from gpu power. He wouldn't be the first person to run a web accessible neural network, simulation, a video encoding/decoding service, maybe he made a WebGL version of Nvidia CloudLight. Is it naive of me to think he isn't full pants on head retarded, and has a actual usecase for the GPU power?
Both you and lavacano are completely missing the point here. As a start, you don't decide which cards to get by dividng the CUDA core count by their card price and pick the one with the highest ratio. It doesn't work like that at all. Furthermore, it's pretty obvious robochimp just misused the term "webserver" when he wanted a render server. I don't understand why this is hard to comprehend.
AFAIK http://waifu2x.udp.jp uses Nvidia GPU's for 'intelligent' upscaling
Furthermore, it's pretty obvious robochimp just misused the term "webserver" when he wanted a render server.
Which parts of RoboChimp's posts make you think that?
I don't understand why this is hard to comprehend.
Also, was this necessary? [editline]19th September 2016[/editline] If it really is mainly a render server that just happens to have an httpd on it, then sure, three 1080s, should be fine.
Which parts of RoboChimp's posts make you think that?
He said he's using the GPUs for rendering in his original post, and then specifically said 3D renders in the subsequent post.
I really wish this Dell E6430 could handle displaying on 3 screens without the fancy dock. I only have the el cheapo one.
