So how would an X5660 run in a 2011 board.
I'm missing something important I think.
Mali drivers are ass
Adreno drivers are ass
Nvidia chips are expensive
Linux on ARM is a mess
Android works really well on the ODROID C2 but I wasn't exactly looking for an Android TV box. Hopefully since it's just driver issues things will improve in the future.

maybe I should check out libhybris
Computing is ass.

Right, I know that. Which is why I'm confused why he's looking for a dual 2011 board for 5660's
I was wondering why this USB cable only worked for charging and not data transfer, so I sliced it open.

I guess less copper is cheaper
Actually those are much larger diameter cables so probably more [del]copper[/del] aluminium.

Woops, my bad. I'm in the 13th hour of a 14 hour shift and I'm ready to pass out.
Shit. Went and got a desk so I could setup my computer. Took my computer out of the back of my closet and got everything plugged in and setup. Pushed the power button...and nothing happened. I think my psu finally bit the dust. :(
All the connections are tight, the mobo gets power but it's not enough to boot. After a minute or two of being "on" my fans started spinning and the lights on my gpu started flashing on and off so I shut it off and unplugged it. Hopefully nothing else is dead now too.
I spent all weekend building racks but ran out of screws to install anything in the rack! ;_;
I think it's dead Jim.
With a couple hundred KiB/s of background access from programs.
sudo hdparm -tT /dev/sda2
/dev/sda2:
Timing cached reads: 2630 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1315.50 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 10 MB in 4.30 seconds = 2.33 MB/sec
With everything stopped.
sudo hdparm -tT /dev/sda2
/dev/sda2:
Timing cached reads: 2534 MB in 2.00 seconds = 1267.01 MB/sec
Timing buffered disk reads: 64 MB in 3.02 seconds = 21.22 MB/sec
Oh that's helpful.
Out of curiosity... Are network devices like routers and wireless access points from Yamaha (the same manufacturer that makes pianos and motorcycles) a thing outside of Japan?
Cisco is also a thing here but I have only heard of them being used in large public facilities where there are loads of access points and such, maybe also data centers. Otherwise it seems as if most businesses use Yamaha network devices.
I didn't even know Yamaha made network stuff so probably not :v:
Cisco is massive pretty much everywhere there's enterprise
What is it with the standard chain of major japanese brands making the weirdest hardware in japan only?
Yamaha makes networking hardware, Panasonic makes bicycles, Hitachi makes rice cookers.
I've never heard of Yamaha making networking gear either.

Hitachi make everything though. From Nuclear power to sex toys to mainframes to ATMs and so on. So Rice cookers aren't really too surprising there.
Can't forget Mitsubishi making everything from pencils to fucking fighter jets and tanks.
Keiretsu's are a crazy thing.
If you want to get a bit more crazy, look across to their neighbor Korea, Samsung literally makes everything.

I'm not surprised, Japanese companies seem to be conglomerates with their fingers in many different industries.
Well ok, now I know they are basically nonexistent overseas. They are great though, they have excellent stability and features for the price. Even from the low tier routers you get VPN, high throughput, sophisticated serial port console configuration in addition to easy web setup, VLAN, VoIP, many security features, and countless more. Anybody in Japan who is familiar with networking knows about them.

Kenwood makes both car stereo equipment and kitchen appliances.
Generally anything electric is their jam.

There's still American companies like that, although not as many as there used to be. General Electric makes everything from lightbulbs and washing machines to locomotives and jet engines. And until they sold it off to Comcast, they also owned NBC and Universal.

the mitsubishi that makes mechanical pencils and pens isn't the mitsubishi group

Kind of surprised they aren't in the auto industry by now, unless they are and I'm unaware.

Hopefully they'll use standard car batteries.
