ffmpeg is a lifesaver for anything audio and video converting and even ripping out audio tracks. And easily being able to convert tons of audio files at one from within a simple script is simply amazing.
ffmpeg is basically an engine. use whatever car-body you want on it. Almost every "converter" out there just uses ffmpeg under it. I'm actually surprised you don't know it by hand. It's such an incredible tool to fix files for editing.
I know about the program and had to install it a few times to get screen recorders (aka the screen capture in ShareX) to not use GDI grab. I was initially expecting a GUI of some sort but never actually used the command line for anything yet. I've never had issues with footage or audio in editing (yet) that would require ffmpeg or converting in general, besides transcoding. I usually let Premiere Pro or Avid do their thing. One day I will have to use it to fix something tho.
So I got a bit of a surprise around 8am. Server traffic sees a spike to 7.3mbps then all networking cuts off, however the internal system monitor says its all fine, though maybe someone just hit with an attack again and ovh decided to nullroute it before it could even grow, but 7.3 is kinda small for an attack, then I notice this. Hang on that should only be 3, back from when I started the server I had to reboot it twice to apply some settings, open it up. [t]http://horobox.co.uk/u/reag/2016-10-08_12-42-49.png[/t] Someone fried the fucking motherboard, would have loved if it told me this before they decided to replace it, oh and the memory and cpu also got replaced, only the hdds are the same from what I can tell from the hw serials.
ISP's/tele providers are slowly getting more and more lax on data caps on mobile connections where I am, yet people in the US are seeing more and more datacaps on wired connections.

Old fashioned? Like you said, America seems to go back in terms of internet.
Blogpunch! Someone got stabbed outside my building yesterday, luckily people in the traffic got out their cars and helped, even more luckily an ambulance was coming through and they managed to flag it to pull over and help. Hope that the CCTV by the door isn't potato quality.
In Europe, the ISPs and tele providers are being told to get rid of Roaming costs because it's... Old fashioned? I accidentally googled "timer" and turns out it's a google feature [t]https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/43645231/ShareX/chrome_2016-10-08_19-17-59.png[/t] I should've realized this would be a feature when it already has a calculator build in :v:
Yeah it's great, you can also type in a time and it'll automatically set It also does stuff like currency / unit conversions
Command line on Windows sucks ass though. Anything more than downloading something with youtube-dl or converting something with ffmpeg is a painful experience. [editline]8th October 2016[/editline] Don't even get me started on batch files :vomit:
PowerShell tho.
Yeah it's great, you can also type in a time and it'll automatically set It also does stuff like currency / unit conversions
What I noticed is that if you enter "$5 usd to cad" it won't work, but if you remove the "$" sign, it works.
Alright what the fuck is this 6700k + nh-d17 z170n gaming 5 mushkin reactor 1tb absolutely any crash due to instability on the cpu OC causes: black screen of death so bad a fresh install is required recovery back into windows but half my programs are corrupted the drive isn't even identified by the motherboard any longer I'm not talking crazy numbers here, I was trying to run a 4 hour realbench test @ 4.5 Ghz and 1.3 V I can't effectively overclock with this bullshit, how do I stop it from fucking up windows every time?
Anyone care to explain why I have to remove my GPU to successfully complete a BIOS update on my motherboard? I've only had two updates since I got the board, but every time the only thing that allows it to boot back up properly is removing the GPU and letting it boot up once without it.
PowerShell tho.
It continuously haunts me that I don't have a fucking clue about how to use PowerShell.
I heard chicago has a docsis 3.1 test region with 1000/40 speeds. And it's 70 bucks for unlimited. Trying to negotiate with CC over twitter, they are usually reasonable. Trying to get them to atleast give me the max 250/40 speeds for included with that 50 bucks extra. [editline]8th October 2016[/editline] This is what I sent them: https://i.imgur.com/a4u9QQo.png I should have started with the last bit first I know.
Why is the upload so bad?
Cable infrastructure is inherently top heavy. Because video is going downstream 95% of the time, it's not designed really for bidirectional traffic. So internet is just riding on the narrow band of frequencies. Edit: The reason the gigabit DOCSIS 3.1 speeds are so weird is because downstream is DOCSIS 3.1 but upstream is still 3.0. Comcast said we'd see 3.1 upstream in 2017. So we might see 150-200Mbps upload.
cox is a great service in phoenix and centurylink tend to rip people off 50$/month for 3 down and 1.5 up
According to wikipedia DOCSIS 3.1 can do 10 gbps up and down. Who wants to bet Comcast never go past 100 mbps up.
According to wikipedia DOCSIS 3.1 can do 10 gbps up and down. Who wants to bet Comcast never go past 100 mbps up.
$800/month
$800/month
Well they have Gigabit pro which is 2000/2000 for $300 a month.
According to wikipedia DOCSIS 3.1 can do 10 gbps up and down. Who wants to bet Comcast never go past 100 mbps up.
"99% of of customers don't use more than 10mbps, so we're charging you $100/mbps of upload you want past that." -Comcast
$800/month
Jesus..:jawdrop:
They also had a plan for $400 a month. Extreme 505. 505mbps down/65mbps up. Crazy shit :dogwow:
Which was converted to 505/505 and then was grandfathered to gigabitpro for their price.
It's almost like when there's no competition married with little federal regulation, they can charge whatever they want and you have to pay it [editline]8th October 2016[/editline] Inadvertently funding their lobbying to continue charging you an arm and a leg for sub-standard service :v:
Comcast really likes to jack the prices mean while other countries can charge less for more. Comcast is just greedy.
Unfortunately it's a hell of a lot better than my other option here. It's 25mbps for $40 from Century Link or 250mbps for $80 from Comcast.
I'm glad I don't have to deal with Comcast anymore. Paying $60 for 100/100 from a local fiber company.
Our power utility actually does Fiber but only for commercial addresses.
I'm glad I don't have to deal with Comcast anymore. Paying $60 for 100/100 from a local fiber company.
Just hope it lasts and they don't get absorbed.
I'm not saying "businesses" I'm saying, they only do it in commercial zoning. I'd have to rent an office space to get them. If I owned like a office for me and a few other youtubers it'd be a nobrainer to go with them.
