My fiance decided for haloween barhopping this year we are gonna dress us as 20s gangsters. I thought eh, fine with me, i get to wear a pinstripe suit and smoke fat cigars.
Then i realized im pretty much gonna have to wear a fedora. I thought maybe i could get awaywith an old flat cap, butthe more i try to avoid the cringey fdora, the more im faced with the fact that 20s gangsters ONLY wore fedoras. Fuck.
Go for era correct haircut then.
I kind of doubt any random Facepunch user is asking on here about how to remove a screw that's stuck in its threading in any industrial application, or other application where the tolerances are absolutely critical. Either way I seriously doubt the thermal expansion needed to get the screw unstuck is so big the hole doesn't go back to being within spec once it's cooled down, unless the material is literal garbage or it's cooled down too quickly. I actually have some big boy books about big boy bolts and their big boy properties, amongst other things, from some uni courses I took last year before I switched from mechanical engineering to robotics, so I kind of feel like I should know.
Also I take boxes too personally.
Heating something red hot changes a lot of properties.

The only way i like my hair is short enough that i dont have to give a shit about it.

It's the reverse for copper.
So I'm actually considering getting an iMac - If I get a late 2009 or mid 2010 one, I can use it as a nice second monitor (Or maybe even main monitor if it works well enough).
I have found a late 2009 one at a good price that would fit the bill, but I have *also* found a 2011 one that's quite a bit more powerful for not too much more - But the 2011 models don't do target display mode.
Maybe I could change my way of life and use two operating systems at the same time, but I'll probably miss being able to drag windows over from one computer to another...

I actually have one lying around. Too bad your in Europe, otherwise I could just have you email me a UPS label and ship it.
One of the real benefits of being a burger is how cheap shipping is.
What are the specs of the iMac?

I'll buy it off of you if you don't mind :v: I've been showering eBay for a good deal on a Mac capable of running El Capitan or Sierra so I can get into iOS and Mac development.
What are the specs of the iMac?
The 2009 model has since been sold, but the 27" mid-2011 i5 iMac has 16GB of RAM, a "new" according to the seller 256GB SSD, and the CPU (i5-2400 at 3.1GHz according to everymac.com) is close in performance to the 2500k that I used to have (according to passmark.com).
So quite a usable machine, I might have some uses for a good secondary machine, even if it can't be used a secondary monitor for my 6700k system...
Sounds like a really ice machine.
I was planning on getting an older model iMac for a while, but with new iMacs possibly being announced next week I'm holding off on buying anything.
It might be a good idea to wait - Besides I don't have the money before the end of the month anyway so I'd have to borrow money if I wanted to buy anything now. It's a pretty good deal compared to what else is being sold right now though, and it was put up today...
5k or bust

I suggest waiting for the update. Maybe you'll get 6K!!!
No. Six is a weird number.

If I had $350 to spend I would but I'm just going to pray to Satan instead.

Picked up my HP Stream 7 after not using it for a while, sold my iPad mini a while back and was itching to play with a tablet again.
The OS was so fucked up, I couldn't use the device. Factory reset and when I set it up, it reboots and starts the setup process again. :v: So now I'm sitting and reinstalling W10 on it. It was complaining about drive errors so I hope it didn't die!
Also, in unrelated news, I did get my car back. It was towed because the idiot thief parked illegally. But it had no damage and they rifled through my things (read: used tissues and paper towels in the center console), but I got it back fast and without damage. I'll take it.
I honestly agree to your post to the slightest extents. Some people in this thread gets quite pretentious and obnoxious when it comes to linux and OS discussions in general.
Don't get me wrong though, I don't hate linux. I make all my developments on linux on a daily basis, but I don't wave a flag around going "hey guise look at me im using loonix xdd", or thinking I have some kind of superiority complex for using a certain linux distro over other OS/distros.
Huh?
This is like the one tech discussion place where I don't see OS wars.
[sp]keep the n9 out of this please[/sp]
I hate all OSes in some way, computers suck

Everything sucks. Software, hardware, everything that was ever made sucks.

But that's a good thing if it's a vacuum cleaner.
Windows Server EC2 instances are now running 2016. My god this start menu is so much better than the start screen in 2012.

Because the first thing a server needs automatically installed is a map.
RDP with 250 ping is still ass but it definitely seems more responsive than 2012.
