Just finished reballing my iMac for the second time, it's as good as new now and I love it I wish newer Apple products were easy to service as this one
"easy to service" "reballing" Not phrases that go in the same sentence there, dude.
It's not as half as it'd be in their modern machines, even with a high failure rate I like how they designed the iMac G5 to be torn apart with no effort at all, it feels like a completely different philosophy than what they do today
Are we talking about the same iMac G5? I've had to take a few of those apart and it's fucking miserable...
Just ordered a new GPU. I paid out the ass, buying it from one of those popularist Finnish meme companies that everyone buys from (Jimms), but now I get it via the Finnish post, instead of being raped by UPS if I ordered via Mindfactory in Germany. Sapphire Nitro+ OC RX 480 8GB
Just finished reballing my iMac for the second time
Did you do it yourself or did you pay someone to reball it? Unless you have your own reballing station already (and the skills associated with it), I'm sure it costs less to just buy another old imac.
Weren't you just posting like yesterday about how your next GPU wouldn't be an AMD?
I made the decision that I can give up on game recording, since I don't have the Internet connection to support actually doing anything with that. I have 1Mbps upload, and I've basically reached the point where I can learn anything from my own gameplay in VODs. Also, if I want to record gameplay, I can just OBS it. Now that there's the VCE plugin for OBS, I can just record purely raids with that. TL;DR: RX 480 seems to be beating 1060 in newer games, so the tradeoff is Shadowplay+DX11 performance vs slight futureproofing. RX 480 is already overkill compared to my 270X, for DX11, so I don't really need additional power to play my WoW. Edit: My main problem on AMD is Plays.TV being a piece of shit, but if I really, really want to record something, I'll OBS it.
The woman?
No he clearly wants to be the console
Sapphire Nitro+ OC RX 480 8GB
Haven't heard many good things about that version of the 480. From what I understand the ones by XFX are the way to go.
Just bought some stuff off eBay for the ThinkPad. I found a computer shop that had the hard drive caddy and the guy wanted $10 for it. Nah, I'll wait 4-6 weeks for it to arrive from Asia. No where had the red nubs so oh well. Same with the Expresscard to USB 3. No one wants these things anyways lol.
My main problem on AMD is Plays.TV being a piece of shit, but if I really, really want to record something, I'll OBS it.
Yeah Plays.TV is a joke, I avoid using it and Raptr, kinda glad that trash isn't packaged with the drivers anymore because all it did was cause problems. Dxtory and OBS are all I need for recording purposes, just wish they'd get a recording buffer working with Dxtory already. Sapphire is the cheapo brand that tends to use shoddy parts and then theres Gigabyte which is sat in the middle, great hardware but the coolers ain't all that great but then again neither is the XFX Double D, it has its own problems related to VRAM cooling still if you plan to overclock.
The XFX's RX 480 GTR seems to be the card to get if you're in the market for an AMD card. I'm considering getting one of those or a 6GB GTX 1060, but I'm waiting until Black Friday to decide.
Haven't heard many good things about that version of the 480. Edit: Also, people are going to disagree with me here, but it's personal. I have no use for DisplayPort outputs. I really need 2 HDMI and DVI.
yeah it's absolutely ridiculous the regular cable testers are £5 on ebay, seriously
ok well honest answer you need an actual computer to actually check ports because it needs an entire tcp stack
Westworld is really good
So my mentors who have been preparing me for the last 8 weeks is setting me up with more meetings with sys admins and people who maybe able to give me more work experience or have interest in what I can offer.
I better be the one in the front.
I'm the computer
guys why the fuck does everyone think the surface dial is anything more than a stupid waste of money explain it takes a ton of space and could be replaced by a ui element the same size or smaller on the display ???????????????????????????????????????? it can be used off it, but still, $100 for nothing
TIL: Google archived ALL of Usenet and lots of it still appears in google searches.
Late, but I love reading old Usenet shit posts. People say the internet is ruthless now, but nah, people have always been shitty. :v: This one nearly made me tear up from laughter.
ok well honest answer you need an actual computer to actually check ports because it needs an entire tcp stack
aww really? that sucks could be a huge market thing honestly
aww really? that sucks could be a huge market thing honestly
I've seen DIY solutions with a microcontroller and ethernet controller, but they could only do base10T, so worthless to see if the line is OK for gigabit.
here's a use case for the surface dial that i could really use it for video editing scrubbing through that time line going frame by frame zooming in and out adjusting post effect levels for precision the surface dial could be a lot if the applications can make use of it so i don't actually think its silly, it has the potential to be really neat it's not even out yet
this already exists and cost less to a little more than the surface dial and have way more functionality

It can be for anything.
So could you share some examples rather than just saying it exists.
contour makes a few, i got a shuttlexpress for like $5 at a thrift store once http://ergo.contourdesign.com/US/store/ 3d connxion make them too, but cost quite a bit https://www.3dconnexion.com/buy/shop.html

apparently bad people log into my skype account more than i do

Can't get enough of it. Sunday at 7PM Mountain is sacred time. I'm so glad we got HBO with our Xfinity TV. And this is computer related because I am told it has 35 computers... meet my new car (and the MXPE's shit camera): 2017 Ford Escape SE. Had 10 miles on it off the lot. Should be a little less easy to steal than a '96 Honda.
I tend to go with MSI cards. What's the opinion on that?
Great. Dunno why Reagy didn't mention them. One of the few companies that makes great cards in both AMD and Nvidia models.
does steam have seperate servers for workshop content? these speeds are fucking abysmal, my regular speed is 3mb/s. (p.s i don't know where else to post this) [t]http://i.imgur.com/rjVOcTO.png[/t]
Heir motherboards aren't that great imo. Never owned one of their GPUs, but if I get a 1060 ir'll probably be from MSI.
