Imageshack is fine, and doesn't place any ads on your images, damnit.
If you see ads on your images, then you're doing something wrong, like not using the direct link.
But there are faster hosts out there, I agree.

What.
That's not how PNGs work at all.
If you have 30 or so colours, yeah, a 2560x1600 image would be around 700KB or so, but if you have a complex image on your hands, then it's going to go way over 1MB mate.

I think Photobucket works. Same as Flickr.
I'm not entirely sure though. I don't have a resolution that big.
